Do the government give you a monthly Medicaid card and food stamps for the child AFTER you adopt a child? I'm interested in adopting ONE child via foster to adoption program as a single person in the Midwest.

I want to adopt because I do want to be a parent and yes I'm in it for the long hole i want to be a mom I also understand that that child will want to now about their biological family my husband was adopted as a child we both are ready to adopt

Thank you for this. I love the part where it is mentioned “we are just 1 part of that child’s story.” There’s a lot of ego and “savior complex” that goes into fostercare so thank you for this realistic view on foster care and adoption.
