I don’t mean it’s the best, and it’s certainly not the worst, but in terms of being as well-rounded as possible, there aren’t many others that can touch it. @@jasondalton6182 Hilarious 😂 To your point I spent the summer in Sag Harbor NY and the 2 London Jewelers in Sag had exactly 2 watches between them. Neither of those mentioned here. However, a few jewelers on main street had pre-owned subs, GMTs and Cosmographs. I didn't bother to price them. I have 2, not in the market for a third. Bored with the 2 I have😕.

I totally agree with this. I’m still pissed about my GMT II coke that I sold 15 years ago for a bargain ( 3500.- CHfrs) I hate myself for that stupid move. Luckily I bought an AP Royal Oak for 11000.- CHfrs at the time using some of that money. It makes it less painful

Well.. You truly wanna hear this. After I heard from my local ad that I needed 10 previous purchases to get the Submariner i decided to give a try for the first time and get high quality replica. Does any of my colleagues that own original pieces found out it was a replica? Nope. I own an original Tag Heuer aqua racer and it's absurd that the replica of the Submariner is far better quality, basically impossible to know it's a replica now days and then you question yourself if those Swiss brands even worth 1\20 of their costs.

It's called exclusivity btw, these watches are priced that way to deter cheapskates like you from ruining the brand heritage. Imagine rolex watches were 1000 bucks nobody would even want them, your granny might as well be wearing one while taking out the trash. Despite of being 3 fantastic watches, you could also have selected a Datejust 41, a Explorer, and a GMT Master II. What about an Explorer II, a Sea-Dweller, and a Milgauss....there are so many cool Rolex watches to chose from. Let the haters hate 🙂.

I thought I was over Rolex. I started with a Submariner in the 1980s. I sold it when I got into larger divers. Then I was gifted a vintage Rolex 1500 Date. Then I purchased a vintage Datejust 16013. What I have learned is a Rolex is just right. Not the best watch. Far from it. I own better watches than my Rolex. The styling is always just right and always very attractive and appealing. Rolex just makes a very beautiful watch that always seems to be just right. Modern examples and styling excluded.

Interestingly enough, I recently bought my first Rolex, a brand new Daytona. I followed that up with a 16610 Sub, and then a vintage OP. Not all new, but all mine, which will go to my kids one day.

Whilst I agree on your assessment of the Submariner and Oyster Perpetual I don't see it with the Daytona. It's a hard watch to find of course but it is not the quintessential chronograph - there are two or three others that more readily get that accolade.

For me the perfect Rolex is the OP 41. It is so clean and simple but done at a high level. It is the foundation upon Rolex has been built from the oyster bracelet, to the perpetual movement, and the oyster case with its waterproof capabilities. It is the perfect everyday watch for any situation be it office or jungle

The perfect Rolex is the new sub 41. I own plenty of rolexes from PM to steel and after years of wearing them, i can easily say that if i were to only have one watch in my collection, it would be the black sub.. cant live without it..

Rolex can't help it there is greater demand for their watches than they can supply, 8 years ago you could buy what you liked and get a discount. I've bought 3 new Rolex's in the last 3 years. Two I just walked in and bought and I waited about 3 months for the other. No problem.

It’s not that hard, you’ve not even tried. I’ve bought a new Rolex at retail every year since 2019, two of which I walked in and bought and another I waited 3 months for. If I sold them now I’d make over £10k, if I’d bought 3 Omega’s I’d have lost £6k. So I’m £16k better off.

I’ve purchased three SS sports models (two subs and one Explorer) in the last couple of years, all from different AD’s that I had zero prior history with. I would venture to say that the vast majority of the people going online and crying about how they can’t get a Rolex haven’t even done the leg work. Walk your lazy ass into a store, introduce yourself, and tell them what you want. Can you get a panda Daytona or a Pepsi GMT? Probably not. But just about every other sports model is attainable for the average Joe.

sub and gmt looks very same. i had both, but sales it. For my the perfect rolex collection is the daydate in yellowgold as a dresswatch, the datejust in steel for every day, and the skydweller or a daytona in two tone as a sportwatch.

Can you do a video focusing on the submariner? Nobody else does videos quite like you. I think the submariner is the perfect every day watch. And the 16610 is the perfect middle ground between vintage and modern. It’s also probably the best value in the sub range. Older models are much higher and the newer models are very large and also more expensive.

My 3 perfect Rolex watches are: ofc Sky Dweller platinum/steel black dial; a white gold Yacht-Master 42mm; and two tone GMT Master Root Beer. I couldn't care less if it's an investment or whatever, but these are the ones I'd love to own.

Got my Sub Date after 3 years waiting and purchasing a Tudor BB Burgundy and a Blue DateJust 41. Absolutely love it but also love my the DateJust just as much. It's the perfect everyday watch IMO, wven more than the Sub.

A very typical selection but I would have gone DJ rather than OP. I would also say that a GMT can easily substitutes the Sub (pun intended). This is the typical mix for a 3 watch collection: Sports Dress Chrono Alternatively, I like: Sports Dress Digital I consider many Chronos like the Speedy etc to effectively cover the Sports category but like they say: "buy what YOU like, not what other people tell you to buy"

Watching watchfinder in ultra high definition, I can’t help but notice- 1. the dust around the cyclops of the Rolex submariner at 02:43 2. the chronograph minute hand doesn’t align to its marker on the Rolex Daytona at 07:00 Man my OCD is flaring

@@maviarab I own two Rolex watches with a cyclops and it doesn't bother me at all plus I think they are worth the money. Very expensive yes but they are very reliable, durable and keep the best time. Plus they look amazing and have the best adjustable bracelets. You get what you pay for and you can't see any cyclops glue with the naked eye so not an issue for me.

those saying "wouldn't have 3 watches from same brand", "whys he pro Rolex now although he seemed anti-Rolex in the past"... I honestly think his video is more along the lines of "If I had to pick a 3 watch collection from Rolex, what would it be?". Its pretty good template for content, can be repeated for future videos on other brands. And its a similar idea done before by Teddy on other brands like Seiko

used to love the rolex sports collection but i have that hate against them these past few years. with the sudden shortage ? its all in the grey market with a huge mark up in price and that buy to show .. kinda eyeing on the sea dweller 16600 with no cyclops and maxi case as i like it simple :)

I don’t know about click bait titles but I only have a GMTIIC (black ceramic bezel), Rose gold DayDate 36mm Tahitian Black MOP dial, fluted bezel, and President bracelet, Patek 5146R Annual Calendar, 5170G Chronograph and a Sapphire sandwhich 3573.50 Speedy pro. I have no plans on adding to this small mix anytime soon. The DayDate is my everyday piece. The rest sit in a vault. Thanks

I’d drop the cyclops & go with the (no date) Sub; I’d probably edge towards a GMT over the Daytona & I’ll stick with my Explorer 39 over the new OP as the third! :-)

My personal 3 watch collection (I have more but this is not about quantity) ... 1974 Speedmaster 145.022...1987 Rolex 16550 Black dial...1991 Rolex Sea Dweller. My 1967 Submariner 5512 is no longer "in rotation".

As far as Rolex: Pepsi GMT on Jubilee, Polar Explorer II, Z-Blue Milgauss. Those are the three I'm shooting for. One down...

@@WestCoastAce27 So almost right after I listed that trio, I got the call for/bought the Batman on jubilee instead of the Pepsi (and I'm glad, it suits me better). Then yesterday, I got the call for the Polar. Completes my trio.

My 3 watch collection is the Explorer, GMT (Pepsi), and James Cameron. The GMT, in my opinion, is the best line that Rolex makes. Hard not to include that in a 3 watch collection. I’d happily axe the Daytona for many other models. Personal fav is the Cameron though but I completely understand why it would turn off a lot of people.

I agree. I’d have one over a Daytona any day. Although I don’t think I’d ever buy a Daytona over a speed master, even if price and authorised dealers weren’t an issue

I have the Pepsi GMT, a Deepsea JCE, and an Explorer II. I agree with you. I have never been a fan of the Daytona. 🤔...well...I saw one in white gold...simply gorgeous, but completely out my budget.

The Rolex Perpetual is what a watch should be no hype no BS. This is a great watch. It should be price so the average person could hope to buy it. But that is where Tudor comes second place for the masses.

I have the less desirable two tone 2016 116503 (white dial) Daytona. I think it’s a beautiful watch but it’s the “lesser” Daytona according to the market
