Story 1: I audibly gasped when I realized one of the intruders was hiding in the room with him. That was terrifying! Like something out of a horror movie. I'm glad he was okay and nothing worse happened!

Story 2: I knew about a sump. I told my friend about the sump. Opened gate to the sump. Went down to sump. Sat by the sump. Watched fireworks at the sump, they lit up the sump. Heard noises at the sump. Heard noises behind us at the sump. Saw black figure at the sump. Black figure chased us out of sump. Well that about Sumps up the story.

That first story was crazy, rarely do submissions on this channel involve actually being held at gunpoint outside of maybe the Craigslist volumes. Thankfully they survived! Thank you for your uploads as always!

I felt angry that the three robbers in the first story got away with their robbery 😤 I used to believe that there werent too much fear and bad people scattered on Earth but Mr. Nightmare never disappoints

Most crimes go unpunished and the criminals get away, unfortunately. At least it was just a robbery and nothing worse. Stolen things can be replaced. Human life cannot.

They got away with that one, but criminals like that just keep going until they get caught and win their first big prison sentence. We're not talking about the brightest bulbs in the chandelier when it comes to armed robbery and home invasion.

Not a 4th of July horror story, but this happened to my brother, he and my dad went to my dads friends property out in very rural Waxahachie. Well they were setting off fireworks having a good time, (maybe it’s important to say my dads friend is a huge redneck) well during the night, one of the fireworks fell down, lighting a bunch of others, so a lot of fireworks were going off, people were running and taking cover. Little brother who was still young dove under a car. And one firework flew and accidentally hit my dads friend, son in law in the eye. Luckily he didn’t lose the eye but he has permanent damage to his eye, I think they said he can’t see in his peripheral vision.

My cousin thought it would be a good idea to make a homemade firecracker; it blew up in his face. They had to pick gunpowder out of his face and his eyes and he was blind for awhile but eventually regained his vision. Thanking God he didn't unalive himself. Not a good idea to make your fireworks is the lesson. And there's always someone who will think that they're smarter and can get the job done without blinding themselves. Till that stops, tragic accidents will continue to happen.

Agreed. I have PTSD and I despise 4th of July. This year though I’m leaning in to it. I’m lighting off my own fireworks. Maybe it will help more than hiding out does.

I was 4 years old on The Bicentennial. My parents loaded our car with people to go to a firework show at our local harbor. There was a teenage girl who was screaming in fear over the fireworks. At 4 years old, I was not scared but getting scared because she was freaking over the whole thing! I doubt I'll be around for The Tricentennial!

I was pretty young at that time, too. I lived in one of the states that were part of the first thirteen colonies. We had a harbor, too. We didn't go there to see the fireworks. Too congested. They had a party going on all week, I think. Including celebrities.

That first story got me it was scary enough that somone was in the house but when the robber said hey you in there and the other guys saying yes with the guy in the locked room 😨.

Plus the parents were fairly dickish. With or without the party the robbers likely had those firecrackers on hand so not having the party wouldn't have made a difference.
