This will also work to lift 2000-2006 Toyota Tundra front ends.
Here is the closest kit I could find to the one I used:
amzn.to/3mr0tzc
Measurement from ground to center of front fender well - 38½"
Measurement from ground to center of rear fender well - 39½"
Tires in this video are:
33x12.50R18 Delinte DX-9 Bandit M/T

put this same kit on 4 months ago and deleted my original comment. here’s what’s gone right and wrong so far. for one, this video is absolute gold for anyone whether you’re doing a spacer lift or longer springs/coilovers. I installed 2.5” spacers front and rear with 275/70/18 wheels and 1.25” spacers. It is excellent on the road and decently capable off road. that being said, be prepared to change your cv boots/tie rod boots *potentially. since the lift all of my boots are leaking, no big deal I expected it and had already ordered long travel axles. overall i would absolutely do this lift again, it looks great, rides good, and if you follow along with the video it can be done in your driveway. it took a couple weeks for the suspension to fully settle but i haven’t had any issues since then with UCAs or anything really. oh and yes getting a rust free Arizona vehicle was a huge headache saver, everything came off easily. hardest part of the whole job was actually lining up the pan hard bar afterwards but it only took about 10 mins

Anyone considering a spacer lift, take into account the binding points of the cv axle, ball joint and tie rods when the suspension is fully unloaded. Also the front bumpstops should be spaced down so that the shock doesn't bottom out, your front bumpstops should stop the control arm

I have an 03 4wd with 3rd row and tow hitch. It has 240K miles. One of the rear shocks died so I'm replacing it with an OEM clone and figured I might as well add a 2, maybe 2.5 inch body lift kit, while I'm getting my hands dirty. I'd like to throw some 33's on the factory rims. I'm seeing a ton of conflicting info, as to what all needs to be done/replaced. Will factory shocks work? Do I need to replace the rear coil springs as well? Any help would be appreciated.
@treehouseoffroad
@treehouseoffroad Жыл бұрын
Factory shocks and factory springs will work with a body lift because you are keeping the suspension the same yes. You may have to remove the front mudflaps and hammer the front wheel wells a bit to avoid rubbing with 33's. The rears will not run in this scenario

Hi, what size of wheels and tires fits after the lift? Does 285/75/17 would not rub?
@treehouseoffroad
@treehouseoffroad Жыл бұрын
We clear 33x12.5 tires. They still rub a tiny bit in reverse but not enough to bother us. A 285/75R17 is a slightly taller tire at 33.83 inches so you may have a bit more rubbing. Nothing removing the mud flaps and taking a sledgehammer to the pinch weld can't fix though

Are new rear shocks are requirement? No. That's part of the attraction of a spacer lift, you can reuse your front and rear shocks. Would it handle and articulate better with a longer rear shock absorber? Absolutely. You're essentially eating up 3 inches of your downtravel when you install the spacer. We did not replace the rear shocks as they were fairly new when we got the truck, and we had no plans of taking it off road.

@@Petrovich1988 Is your truck rusty? It could be seized. Because if the bolts are removed you should be able to push it down
@Petrovich1988
@Petrovich1988 Жыл бұрын
@@treehouseoffroad some rust but not too bad. I did noticed that those inserts that bolts go through is not loose. I tried hammer it on the nut side but no luck. The arm does go down but under severe pressure (unlike the video, where it moves freely) anyways I used a long bar to force the arm down while I catch that hole with the nut on the bottom of the shock. With great effort I was able to do it. Now I got to move to the other side… for some reason I can’t release the arm to be able to work with it so I’m trying to see if I am doing something wrong🤔

@@Petrovich1988 hard for me to visualize what you're saying but it sounds like you got it. I'm not sure why they'd be so tight if they were not seized or rusted

If you're young and broke, the LAST thing you should be spending your money on is a vehicle/mods. Can't say I haven't made the same mistakes in my youth, but now at 56, after 30 yrs in business, I look back at all the money I wasted trying to "look good", "go fast", "be the man". Luckily, my business allowed me the cushion to absorb all that waste, but I just think how much I could have saved and invested. Sure, enjoy your youth, you can live it to the fullest WITHOUT spending $$$, delay that short term gratification. If you're not increasing your income EXPONENTIALLY as the years go by, life is just going to be that much harder and you'll look at all the "stuff" you bought as worthless trash. Just trying to help brother.

You make some great points, but personally I had to learn those lessons for myself. I think most young men will have to come to this conclusion on their own
