The fundamentals of surfing - compression, extension and rotation, drive all manoeuvres in the sport and there are loads you can try BUT most surfers get trapped in the habit of doing the same manoeuvres over and over again.

Hey kale, can you make a video on the importance of your back foot over the tail pad. Or tips on how to adjust right away and get your foot back or pop up methods to have ur foot back right away?? I’ve been surfing for 2 years and compete but this is still one of the things I struggle with most causing me to bog on my turns

Kale, I took surfing back up last November after giving it up almost 20 years ago to pursue a legal career. Your videos have been instrumental in making it such a great experience for me. You are not only helping so many learn how to surf better but also making an otherwise intimidating sport seem inviting. You are awesome, you rip and you are above all humble. Thank you so much.

Kale your videos were the first I found when I moved to HAWAII and they (and you) have dramatically improved my surfing. Found this video yesterday morning while stretching at home before heading out and spent the entire session working on lip line finishers. It’s incredible how fun you make the learning and the journey. Thank you so much for what you’re doing 🤙🏽

Been working on roundhouse cutbacks for 10+ years now. I regularly nail them backside, but I still struggle with the front sode roundhouse. Ill try to follow these steps next time I get to surf.

what comes around... Interesting that you recommend folks try floaters. I grew up on them in the 80s, they were a staple at our often onshore beach breaks on the US east coast, essential for connecting sections. and yes they feel amazing, who cares how they photo. nice vid

Hey kale, I am riding a 6/6 foam board. I’m able to pop up and ride the face, and I’m also starting to do some little turns. I was just wondering from your expertise when you think I would be able to ride a shorter hard board.

As demonstrated at 1:12 It appears that a true round house cut back requires almost running over a helpless person who needs to watch your video on duck diving.

I’m having issues learning the snap. Do I put my weight on my back foot to do a snap( without sliding the tail) or my front foot ? Or even. Someone told me that I have to lean all my weight on my back foot and snap the front of the board back down after pointing it up. Thanks guys all responses are appreciated
@johnnymaglaras7325
@johnnymaglaras7325 2 жыл бұрын
Even though ur board has rocker to stop u going over the handlebars, you can’t put ur weight on a single end of the board, it needs to be balanced, use ur back foot to whip the board around and have a bit of weight on ur front foot to keep speed afterwards(if not ur finishing turn) I find it much better to use the tailpad with these sharp turns, I’m no expert on this but that’s my opinion, if the lads up who know better wanna critique this feel free, I can learn from it

kzfaq.info/get/bejne/g5aDiNmmkq3MdHU.html this video is pretty helpful, especially the example at the time stamp I gave you. If you're worried about setting up for the snap that's a whole different story. But if you need more help actually snapping the board then that video is great for you

There wouldn't be a crowded line up if you are skilled enough to ride a straight line to the beach, right, 10 guys could surf the same wave w/o conflict. Think guys just want the whole ocean to themselves, use fancy moves as an excuse
