“How do two brothers get into the nail care business?” This is the single most common question people ask us. There’s a long and rocky version but we’ll give you the short one. We have our fearless and unconventional mother, Young Salo, to thank. With a single-minded entrepreneurial spirit, she decided to start her own business at the age of 49. She had a passion for the nail industry and we did everything in our power to support her. In the end, this is a family business.
Greg, the older brother, became a licensed nail technician after switching gears from fire fighter’s training. He is energy personified and has a true passion for developing the best professional nail care products and education. Habib is the younger brother. He jumped in a few years later; taking a detour from medical school and a life in music. He brings his own creative mind for business, marketing and strategy. Unexpectedly, we are a perfect team.
Today, more than 20 years later, Young Nails Inc., is a professional nail care manufacturing company exporting to over 40 countries worldwide and distributing domestically to over 3000 stores. We’re respected for our next-level product innovation and education. Our mission is to bring you the best quality products and we’ll show you how to use them with incredible results. It’s really that simple.
Welcome to the Young Nails family!

I agree. “Time to educate” I didn’t learn what I thought I was going to. I’ve been watching all these young nails videos the past week and your channel is so amazing. I’m really interested in taking your nail classes❤️❤️

I went to nail school over $9k in tuition & learned nothing but sanitation, material and knowledge needed to pass the board exams. Our teacher wasn’t even a nail technician she was a cosmetologists. Everyone in my class felt robbed. Due to them not refunding our class and pushing the date back until they had a Licensed Nail Technician. KZfaq was our best friend in class.

Idk if you have a video like this posted. But Vlog style of actually showing supplies of what good, necessary and not good or unnecessary to have as a beginner nail tech. (Disinfecting, #set of implements/tools/storage, basic beginner colors of polish/acrylic/gel, nail art pieces, brushes, cleaning/disinfecting station for a small space/home based, storage’s of bulk items in smal space>acetone, monomer, files buffers etc., business cards, machines > efile, dust collector, air purifier?, fan/ac/heater?, spa items, scrubs, masks) a run through video “real look” at what’s a good set up for a stationary Nailtech in a bedroom, living room or small area in an apartment. Or insight on what you had setting up when you started or others you know

Thank you for the insight! I’ve been a hair stylist for 10 years and when people ask for my Instagram I usually say I’m too busy to post. I really should be posting since I have 8-12 clients in a day for reference. I’m really thinking about hiring someone to post and be active on social media while I get play with hair and nails.

My hair stylist has an area set up with a ring light, so once you’re done with your hair you can take a pic if you love your hairdo, send it to her, and she posts it. It’s fun and a great way to get clients excited about their new/refreshed look, and she gets free advertising. So easy and honestly fun for the clients!

I love this video. But I guess that it trips me out to see how many Nail Techs say "I didn't learn anything in school". I feel so bad because at our school American Manicure School of Art: Basics, Sanitation, Business, Foundation, Marketing, Product Knowledge and event Nail Art is part of our Curriculum. But we definitely make sure to let everyone know that Continuing Education is Imperative.
@Pandy879
@Pandy879 2 жыл бұрын
The school I currently attend has all of those things on their curriculum as well, but they only focus on manis and pedis. Our building is EXTREMELY old and the salon floor doesn't have proper ventilation for acrylics, so we only get a few hours of hands-on practice with live models each week... I'm talking less than 8 hrs each week. That being said, the school includes 100 extra hrs above what my state requires to provide extra focus on art, marketing, business, and 30 hrs at the end are mandatory externship in a working salon

@@Pandy879 Nail Sis...I hope to one day Rewrite the Game when it comes to school. Foundation is best..but people want a career and need to be able to compete. I push continuing education..but American Manicure School of Art is trying to shake it up girl! I love how Young Nails literally endorses and give darn near FREE EDUCATION VIDEOS. They want us all to dominate

@@caprethajones1985 OMG yes!!! There's 20 of us in my class, and not only does the name "Young Nails" get thrown around almost every class, since there's about 5 women there who've NEVER done anything beyond polishing their own nails, but we all refer our instructors to these vids. Idk that I'd ever want to become an instructor, but I definitely think that the cost of tuition isn't on par with the quality of real-world experience we SHOULD have once we get licensed.

I wasted so much time trying to learn “instagram nails” when salon clients want ACTIVE LENGTH NAILS WITH GLITTER OR SOME SWIRLS THATS IT!!!!! DO NOT WASTE TIME LEARNING WHAT EVERYONE ELSE IS DOING!!!! That is NOT the salon life. I am now 10x as faster and better in the month I’ve been there because I’m doing realistic nails.
@legslikewhoa

Omg facts! Once I stopped trying to do Instagram nails I was able to meet the requirements of my nail school much faster! I graduate next month and I’m doing better focusing on salon nails. Also I’ve been looking at jobs and they all want mastery of gel manicures, dip, and short-medium square one color nails!

Today is my last day of school and sincerely I don't see any excuse to celebrate, I spend 7k for a license that's it because the education that I received was 0. I paid 7k because the government is soo wrong and makes us spend that amount of money for nothing.

Hi what type of air purifier should I get for a small space nail salon? Is there specific ones to get ? Any way to do a video out and air quality for nail salon?

And for the dust
@youngnailsinc
@youngnailsinc 2 жыл бұрын
Air purifiers can help with some of the salon odors, but we would also recommend to make sure that your space is well ventilated. By having either an air exchange (pulls air out and pumps in fresh air) to remove the chemicals or other ventilation (windows, exhaust fans, etc), you can remove the chemicals, not just the smell. Also, make sure you have a good garbage can that seals tightly so you can throw away your table towels immediately when you are finished and not have that in your breathing area and keep your products sealed tightly when not in use. These steps will significantly help to reduce the chemicals in the air. If you are wanting specific recommendations for an air purifier, we would suggest posting this on our Facebook Community page to get a variety of suggestions so you can determine what would be best for your space.

Can you give examples of business plans?
@youngnailsinc
@youngnailsinc 2 жыл бұрын
Business plans can be as complex as something you would bring to a bank to obtain financing and may include topics such as a company description, marketing analysis, financial and marketing plans, etc. Or they can be something simple that is just for you and may include your 3, 6, 9, 12+ month goals and what steps you need to take to achieve them.
