Fun fact! Daechwita only has one beat throughout the song, it’s Yoongi’s rapping, flow and tone change that makes it feel like every verse has a different beat. It’s his polymetric rap flows, his agogic accents, or his use of syncopation to rap in between beats that makes him such a distinguished rapper. His signature rap style of being ahead of the beat, & then slowing down or speeding up his cadence giving the ultimate tension and release with his flow is so impressive. This man can build up 16 bars just by starting ahead of the beat, move to hitting behind, refuse to resolve the bar and then start hitting non traditional notes. Not only can he spit bars super fast, HE’S A FUCKING GENIUS, building palaces around other industry rappers with his lyrics and flows. "Bang PD-nim told me I've become much brighter after releasing my mixtape (in reference to the letter and how he released his first mixtape as a way to let out toxic emotions). He even asked me where the indecisive person full of wrath from before had gone. It was my complex and the way to solve it was music that I need to make". To begin with, “Daechwita” is the Korean word to refer to the traditional marching music played at the time of a King’s arrival. It is also played to announce important guests and other royalty. The music video starts with the King Agust D with a scar running across his eye. It looks fresh and hasn’t completely healed over yet. The other protagonist of the video is Agust D as a lowborn, also with a scar running across his face, completely healed over. This is relevant in order to show a natural progression and further reinforce that these two characters are simply versions of the same person in and out of time. The King represents AGUST D of the past, with wounds fresh from the humiliation, malicious comments of haters and lack of support is defensive and reacts violently to opposition. A Suga full of ambition and anger (represented by his iconic blond hair from his first mixtape Agust D). This King is a tyrant, who kills those who oppose him and steops in his subjects. Yoongi himself has said that he used to be a very angry person who was overwhelmed with his career and mental health issues (as per a letter he shared on the Bangtan Fan Café, interviews afterwards and his mixtapes themselves). For AGUST D of the present, the lowborn, those scars have faded away, leaving behind a more mature persona. In Korean tradition, a man or woman with a scar is barred from coveting the throne even if it rightfully belongs to them. As such, the fact that the King has an evident scar right on his face proves that he’s probably had to fight off all royalty to retain his position. It is likely that he wasn’t born royal either and had to fight his way up to the top. Having struggled so much, the King is wary of outsiders and taken on the role of a tyrant so that nobody can even dare to threaten his place. Taking the easy way out, he executes whoever complains, signified by the kneeling figures in black and disembodied victims of the King.. Peasant Suga is his current self, grounded and surrounded by others (as seen by him being backed by his crew of 6 other men and a woman, is quietly making the moves to stage a coup. He’s loved by the people and he has connections everywhere. The 6 men in his crew represent the rest of the members of BTS and the woman represents ARMY). The rest of the MV is pretty self-explanatory, with the "lowborn" AGUST D shooting The King. He's decided to kill the tyrant King through a Coup. He is trying to kill his toxic past self (which can also be a reference to his previous mixtape's song The Last: "Min Yoongi was dead. -I killed him-") to fully embrace who he is now; someone who doesn't care about charts or hatred from others, someone who isn't bothered by money and whose ambitions are less greedy and more rooted in artistry rather than a twisted idea of success. He doesn't need to fight to be at the top anymore, he already is. He KNOWS this, it isn't arrogance, it's just a fact; and he's settled with who he is now. Daechwita’s music video single-handedly chalks the progression from Suga’s first mixtape to his latest, from being a young rapper to a professional Grammy-nominated artist. In order to reach this place, Suga has had to reject parts of himself that focused entirely on the negatives, on rage and on the material aspects of his success. He’s had to fight his shadow (a concept we see in his own solo from MOTS: 7 - Shadow), represented by the King Agust D and only when he could overpower his shadow, his true self could prevail. I think that listening to both his mixtapes is a great way to understand why the shift between D-2 Yoongi and Agust D Yoongi is so jarring but beautiful as well. Agust D and The Last are a wonderful way to start, so I would love if you reacted to those two songs next! You can feel how much of different place he's in now compared to back then. The Last is very heavy, though, so be careful! Yoongi was involved in all aspects of this song and music video and had great input into how the music video was designed/produced (working as usual with Director Lumpens (Choi YongSeok) who does most BTS MVs) - Yoongi wrote, produced, composed the song, he conceptualised the MV and had creative control, all in his "spare" time for his fans as part of his second mix tape (D-2) that he gave to ARMY for free on soundcloud... He literally never stops creating. D-2 Album interview - kzfaq.info/get/bejne/p7Kna8p91syUknk.html BOOKISH THEORIES also does brilliant explanations to BTS work Daechwita explanation kzfaq.info/get/bejne/lZNkoc2lyZa7oHk.html (better than dkdktv's in my personal opinion), check it out if you're interested! Other Video Fun facts - 1. The executione is actually the butcher shown at the beginning of the MV, the one peasant Suga greets. 2- He is, also, the director of lighting haha 3. The gun used to kill the King was a Colt M 1860 ARMY 4. They were going to use a really expensive modern car but it wouldn't drift so then they went with the old car that was really flash when Yoongi was young 5. The picture on the banner the guys held up half way through is an iconic image drawn by JK of their boss PD Bang and Suga did the iconic PD Bang finger spin! 6. Jin and JK make a cameo in the video! Try to find them hehe Daejanggeum Park is where the MV was filmed.... It is a giant film set that doubles as a public historical park where people can come to "experience" old times. Yoongi (Suga) is a member of the clan of the very last empress of Korea.

Every single thing about this makes me squee. Especially that he went so extra for a mixtape he put up a google drive link for Army to download for free. Who does that??

Your comment is good but I do want to point out that there's nothing historical to support the claim that scars barred an heir from the throne (that's more a plot that was popularized in a couple of kdramas). In fact, it was recorded that princes were educated and practiced in the military arts, and even the king mentioned in the MV obtained the throne by taking over after repelling a 7yr invasion when his father, the former king, ran away. There is even a king who had smallpox scars from when he was a child and a prince, and another king who was heavily injured by a concubine, but they both still reigned without issue. And Yoongi is from a clan that produced 3 empresses in Korea (including the mother of probably the most beloved Korean monarch, Sejong).

Korean traditional military music, Daechwita (大吹打) Daechwita is a music that was used as an accompaniment when the king came or the army marched in the Joseon Dynasty. The name of the last gun that Suga shot was "Army" Colt army model 1860 Ps:The name ‘Agust D’ is the reverse of ‘DT Suga’ written in the lyrics. DT refers to Suga's hometown, Daegu, that is, D Town. He used the nickname "Suga" abbreviated as "Suga" as he was a basketball shooting guard.

Most of Suga's songs aren't disses against specific people but rather are general. He's said before that the disses are like traps, if you feel insulted, that's on you. The "old" and "modern" versions of him represent his older persona and his current. When they were first starting out, Suga wanted success and fame, being represented as the king. However, as you can see from the lyrics when he's tied up and surrounded by fire, now after he's reached the top and basically can't get any higher, he realizes that he just wants to look down and stay grounded. The gun is a Colt Army revolver, and symbolizes that ARMY helped him realize he wanted this change. And although his newer self fires a shot his old ego, as you guys saw, we don't actually know the results of what happened. We see this concept of realizing that they don't want to strive for just fame and success in Magic Shop as well. It's a song much loved by ARMY that has helped many people with their struggles in life. I suggest you guys react to this live performance of Magic Shop (kzfaq.info/get/bejne/pMd4odVms7u-m3U.html) that has English subs and get a better idea of why ARMY is as big and devoted as it is. Please pay careful attention to the lyrics!

This is the story of Suga The beginning is a reminder of his humble beginnings. The middle is where he is now. The king is who he had become with fame. The middle section in the dark by the fire is the most important to figuring this out. He says he’s been the king and arrogant and now he just wants to be humble and himself again. In the end he kills the king who represents the worst part of him.

Great explanation, I'd also like to add that Suga said he hasn't decided if the king is dead or not because he could have missed but we would find out on the next mixtape/ album. My personally theory is that he missed the shot, the king is alive.

@@nuhkyah23 When he said the "King" might not be dead.. what I took from it is that the part of him that wants to tell his haters what's what. Everything else died except the part of him that will continue to put naysayers in their place. Either with his producing skills or diss tracks. To be fair his diss tracks are never directed at anyone. If it affects them then it's their problem.

ok so Yoongi said on his vlive that 'daechwita' is more focused on his production skills (as i remember, correct me if i'm wrong), I would also add that this work is focused on the story and visual image of the mv. As I know you will watch explanation video by DKDKTV, they explain many historical and those moments that a non-korean speaker wouldn't understand. Explanation video by DKDKTV and Yoongi's little explanation are different but I think 2 interpretations work very well. Yoongi himself said the blond Agust D is Yoongi filled with anger from the past (his parents were very opposed to his desire to make music, as they wanted a stable job for him. he also had social anxiety and depression. during his trainee days, he had no money, he was very poor. when he worked as a food delivery boy he had an accident, as a result the cartilage of his shoulder joint was torn. he didn't tell anyone about this he thought he might be kicked out of the group. it was healed the wrong way. it's just facts and that was what shaped his personality i think. those were hard times and I didn't even mention everything) and bottom class Yoongi is the more mature him from the present (in the mv bottom class Yoongi killed the king who is Yoongi from the past). By the way he said he hasn't decided yet if the old Yoongi is killed as the story will continue on his next album D-3. It's so funny to me that he keeps intrigue. D-3 will be released around April. english is not my first language so i am sorry for any mistake or misunderstanding.

suga held a livestream when this mixtape was released where he sipped whiskey and explained that he sets ''rat traps'' in his songs. you just have to wait and see who gets offended. you get the feeling he has very specific people in mind when he writes certain lines and those people often expose themselves. another banger on this mixtape is ''What do you think'' - that one is a pretty explicit diss track. another song I would recommend is ''The Last'', he talks about his social anxiety and depression in that track in a very heart wrenching way, that song made me a bts fan (as a hiphop fan)

The King represents an overdized ego consumed with exercising his power. In the song "Magic Shop" Suga raps that the greed which was his weapon became a leash that chokes him. He says much the same in his Agust D song "The Last". His " greed" being the constant need to compare himself to others and desire to be at the top. Now he wants to remain grounded. By shooting the King he is destroying the insecure, controlling persona.

THIS IS GONNA BE LONG BUT HERE'S AN EXPLANATION "Daechwita” is a showdown between two Agust Ds-one a king and one a rebel gang leader. The king rules with no mercy as he sentences dozens of people to death by beheading them and then collecting heads as trophies(as shown in the mv). The rebel challenges his rule and methods but is captured and sentenced to death. He is saved from execution however, as it is implied he bribed the executioner at the start of the video to spare him and hand him a gun, with which he finally shoots and takes down the despot king. During the development of the MV we can see that Yoongi has a deep scar around the eye, the interesting thing about all this is that in South Korea a king cannot have any marks on his skin since otherwise he would not be considered fit to occupy the throne. However, the fact that Suga proudly shows the scar on his face is proof of his strength, that despite being hurt inside he was able to demonstrate that he is capable of achieving his dreams and greater ambitions. The king witnesses how the humble boy challenges him on several occasions and decides to use his power to order that his head be cut off, just as other members of the town have had the same fate. Finally Suga is captured and tied by the hands and arms for his execution but he seems not to be scared and moves to the rhythm of the torches that surround him. However, Suga even at the moment where he was about to lose his life, he was able to continue fighting for his ideals and rebel against injustices, this is how he defies the king and shoots him, robbing him so his last breath. Another Idea is that, this mv shows how BTS struggled to fight their way up to the top against the harsh system with no one but their fans by their side. The ordinary suga being the BTS and the mad King being the system and those background dancers behind him being his BTS members and that girl being the ARMY.

What you given is more of DKDKTV's explanation and he is the go to for most explained on bts's song but not this one. Obviously anyone can have their own interpretation of this MV but in AgustD/Suga's own words, which is a lot more towards bookish theories's explained video. Which is 2 sides of him fighting to be the dominant persona, one wants to be feared the other wants to be respected. In his own words "Is the king dead? 🙂"

This is all good but just want to mention that there's nothing historical to support the claim that a prince would be considered unfit for the throne if he had any marks and there are still portraits of kings who have blemishes and markings on them. This idea is mostly a kdrama thing (tho Yoongi certainly could've taken this idea as an inspiration for his scar, however, he's only ever stated that he used it for aesthetic purposes, like shock value).

Daechwita (the song) is a representation of Suga’s constant battle against himself and how the desire to achieve his dreams have given him the courage to do everything to achieve being on top, however, the emptiness he feels when he now has everything he wants. He wanted and more continues to torment him, as he has expressed in other songs like BTS ” Interlude: Shadow ‘. To summarize, The Mad King is like old 'immature' Agust D and then you have the present more humble Agust D. The king rules with no mercy as he sentences dozens of people to death by beheading them and then collecting heads as trophies. The rebel challenges his rule and methods but is captured and sentenced to death. It's also interesting the fact that in the scene that black haired agust d is about to be executed you can see that as soon as he shakes his head all the other "prisoners" of the king start doing the same as him basically an analogy like the real leader is the black haired Agust D and not the mad king who trampled and oppressed his people. In The Last (one of his songs of his first mixtape) he raps: “The monster, my success earned at the cost of my youth, wants greater wealth. The greed that used to be my weapon now swallows me, ruins me, and puts a leash around my neck.” and also in Interlude: Shadow he says: 사람들은 뭐 말하지 저 빛 속은 찬란하네 (People say, in that bright light, it’s splendor) 근데 내 그림자는 되려 더 커져 (But my shadow rather grows even bigger,) 나를 삼켜 괴물이 돼 (swallows me, and becomes a monster) So the theory is that the king is his shadow, his greed. I do recommend watching explanation for this MV and also watch Shadow MV as well. Ps: English is not my native language so I don't know if that was clear and sorry for the large text.

In case you don’t know this is different form of Kpop known as K-Hiphop/Rap which is his main specialty where he can fully express himself while staying humble as SUGA of BTS. The meaning behind “AGUST D” which is “SUGA” spelled backwards and in reverse “D T” is short for Daegu Town which is his hometown and name of an old underground rap group that he was a part of as rapper “Gloss”. OMG MY BOY HAS COME and GONE LIKE A PRO AFTER PLACING ANTIs, HATERS and CRITICS in their place on top slaying his ARMY 👀🙀 with his hardcore swag, rapid rapping, beast mode beats & traditional tempo and visuals (PAST AGUST D vs PRESENT AGUST D) dont even get me started with the fashion. I was holding my breathe the whole time seeing him getting up from the throne walking into the palace ready to put someone in their place, bodies on the ground, 😹 Jin & Jungkook pretending to fight behind Suga, BTS members hiding in plain sight and brings a modern car into traditional korean dynasty while battling his innerself then goes into nasty slow flow rap like RM did in DDAENG. It came to the end I was literally on the edge of my seat when he was being taken what looked like he was going to get beheaded while AGUSTD is showing off his sword skills then Suga takes the gun shooting the dark side of himself like a boss 😎 I noticed he used some beats with allot of phrases that he did in their BTS comeback trailer interlude: SHADOW. When I saw the scar, I remembered how much he loves scarface and reminds me abit of scar from lion king with mortal kombat vibes. The BLACK FIGURES behind SUGA presents the fandom: ARMY, he’s basically saying goodbye to his past because he’s ready to move on to a new chapter of his life. *Daechwita is a korean form of marching music that old armies used as they marched into battle or kingly procession; his old & current self fighting for domination over his present life. During his first mixtape he makes many references on how SUGA (stage name) kills Min Yoongi which is his true identity. Now, Agust D the raw savage side kills off the king and SUGA sits down from royalty; if i’m not mistaken, last emperor of the country. The concept/theme is a traditional dynasty where the long hair is indication of wealth and Agust D shown dressed in authentic kingly garments, It was also strongly frowned upon or forbidden for anyone with scars could never be royalty but with this track & music video breaks that stereotype by having Agust D shown with a large visible vertical scar on his eye which expresses even people with scars can be royal on top of showing how powerful his presence is which reminds me of kdrama Scarlet Heart: Ryeo 4th prince where he had a scar but became king despite of it but I also remember how much Suga loves Scarface. IN SIMPLE TERMS HE IS BASICALLY FIGHTING TO TRY STAYING HUMBLE AS A TRUE GROWING ARTIST / RAPPER by confronting his past self. Almost everyone had that reaction and for anyone who doesn’t know or recoginze him, he’s Suga of BTS a globally famous male kpop group, this is his solo alter-ego which is a self-produced solo artist/rapper, if you haven’t seen his first one; Its 2016 ‘AGUSTD’ mixtape. *THE PHRASES “I born a tiger I ain’t no weak pill popper like you”, he was born to be true to his craft not stray from it 😝 ... “We so fly we so fly private jet we so fly”, he’s talking about his groupmates BTS on how swagged they are then you see him bump into Jin (In a beard? Lol) who turns for a second and jungkook accidentally walks into the fishing pole that Jin is holding & they pretend to fight ... “off with their heads”, he doesn’t mean literally cutting their heads off but more or less he’s cutting their heads off with his words. Hahahaha, you know he’s not SUGA when he DISSing justin timberlake when he says “cry me a river you just got no skills”* KIDDNG #AGUSTD2 #Confrontation #Daechwita #BTS

In regards to Agust D and Daechwita you need to see the disection of reactor Knox Hill for this song. He even blowed ARMYs minds with his intricate explanation of the song and ARMYs are usually pretty amazing at understanding a song. Knox is a rapper so his detail for this song is impeccable! If you haven't heard of Knox I am sure you will appreciate his own music too. 😊👍💜

Really enjoying your BTS reactions as well as those of Habitual Linecrosser & Wife! I am one of many over-60 ARMYs and I am so passionate about this group and what they have accomplished. Everyone loves an underdog story, and it's even better when the underdog is a group of young men as talented and humble as these guys are! Truly angels of a human kind sent from a very savvy and hip heaven. Also, as I suggested in another post, please consider doing a reaction to Jin's "bye for now" song to ARMY before he joined the SK army! Yoongi said he specifically did not show what happens after the shot so that you can make up your own mind on whether he "killed" the old self or not, BUT if you look at his solo song Shadow from Map of the Soul 7 album then you can see/hear there about the fact that everyone has a shadow to themselves and they just need to recognize that and learn to live with themselves cause you cannot get rid of that part of yourself. Yea .... But then you could also listen to the explanation video from DKDKTV too to get some of the meanings behind some of the phrases and stuff you see.

Daechwita is a traditional Korean musical genre born in the late Joseon dynasty, which used to be performed in royalty processions, was characterized by including wind instruments and percussion. Today it continues to be used on special occasions and for military purposes. Daechwita is a representation of Suga’s constant battle against himself and how the desire to achieve his dreams have given him the courage to do everything to achieve being on top, however, the emptiness he feels when he now has everything he wants. In the MV, he is the humble boy who represents the Korean people and also the mad king. Yoongi faces himself in an endless battle, his revolutionary and humble side against the powerful, cruel and dangerous part of his personality. There is lot of historical references, symbols and also tiny details about Suga or BTS , as the drawing of Bang SiHyuk, (the CEO of their compagny, the man who help them to start and grow) , the gun he used to kill the King/himself; even the scar around the eye : the interesting thing about this is that in South Korea a king cannot have any marks on his skin since otherwise he would not be considered fit to occupy the throne. However, the fact that Suga proudly shows the scar on his face is proof of his strength, that despite being hurt inside he was able to demonstrate that he is capable of achieving his dreams and greater ambitions. Maybe also a reference to the movie Scarface, Suga had already done a song about Tony Montana/how he was afraid to loose himself in the success . There is so much to say, to discover and to interpret in each BTS MV, no matter it's a OT7 one or a solo song ! You do a good job, guys, I enjoy to see your reactions.

Daechwita (Korean: 대취타; lit. Great Blowing and Hitting) is a genre of Korean traditional music consisting of military music played by wind and percussion instruments, generally performed while marching or as a static performance. The place they filmed the mv is a pretty famous filming place where a multitude of historical movies , dramas and other events have been made. 7:45 you guys didn't notice Jin and Jungkook hahaha 13:33 supposedly BangPD went to confront the guy , because lets remember Namjoon and Yoongi were both 21 or younger and the guy was older, and the guy didn't even was capable to meet with him , his manager had to meet Bang PD and apologize. (I watched a video of this, don't remember the name) Again, this MV have lots of historical references and also personal experiences. Some of the references are about his internal struggles and how he finally cuts out some of his struggles. But of course he's also talking about some of the heaters and how no matter how they try to put him down he is still better than them. (Of course some of this is my interpretation and some of the historical references by DKDKTV

Exactly! I wasn't a fan of rap before, not my genre not until i hear and know Suga's music. I cry when i hear his THE LAST it is so moving, his vulnerability and honesty and unmasking himself to the world just really touched me. Not all artist can do that. I cheer and so happy for him when he do the AGUST D and DAECHWITA , knowing how those haters particularly B- FREE who looked down and humiliate him on one of those stupid interviews i watched the full video of that interview , from the haters it was a blood boiling , poor Suga and RM it was like they were cross examined in the court in that interview they were very young then but encountered those humiliation but so proud of our boys they handled it calmly but instead Suga got back to them and showed his savagery on his songs AGUST D , DAECHWITA and CYPHER( CYPER 2,3,&4 my fave). When Suga do tHe SEESAW, he intentionally produced it for BTS but then he ended singing by himself , it was kind of different Suga there. A soft, flirtatious side of Suga and surprised how versatile he is and loving him so much more! When he auditioned to big hit , he only applied for being a producer and rapper for BTS ( but read one of the article Bang PD said you're too good looking to hide yourself in the studio)but then he ended became an idol which he embraced the make up and dancing. I was so proud of him for a rapper who had no background in dancing , but he turned out to be a really good dancer thats why i can't get enough of him when they Perform n the stage and his location most likely always n tge back of his members. SHADOW and FIRST LOVE is another masterpiece of SUGA, which im dying to hear and see him singing in live. Im proud of this guy from a boy who run away from home to follow his dream , lived on his own struggling life debating himself if he will sacrificed his bus fare money for a good soup noodle or otherwise will walk home to a handsome successful man that he became today. His life is relatable to me and Id been in that situation , is not easy but you have to be has a strong spirit and determination. Being an underground rapper and so young then without his parents supervision, i applaud for him for not letting him be tempted by many worldly temptation like drugs or wild wrong crowds boy, he doesnt even have a tattoo until now, ok he got one the friendship tatoo but still a mystery for all of the armys where that tatto located on his body , anything not good but instead concentrating himself pursuing his dream. And it's paid off. Now , he is really rich but one thing remain unchanged, he still the same Yoongi or Suga we know whi came from humble beginning and still his feet n the ground. A truly very inspiring strory and forever love tbis guy and the rest of tge BTS members!! Lot of purple you💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜 Yoongi and BTS!!

He’s attempting to dethrone the mad king (blonde Suga)that’s at the top bragging. The main take away is when he said he got everything he ever wanted but he needs a reality check to stay grounded. Suga is being self aware to the danger of the celebrity life and trying to stay humble. Also the guys fighting in the back were Jin and JK. I recommend watching the live performance at muster sowoozoo where all the members perform this song because we rarely get to hear the vocalists rap

The car is a 1980s Hyundai Grandeur that SUGA had in his Daechwita MV. It was also in the PSY & Suga mv for "That That" with a different paint job. BTS has been Ambassadors for Hyundai for a long time. Suga/Agust D uses cars in other MV's like in his self-titled "Agust D" song.

For me this MV is about how agustd (or BTS you can say because there is a scene with 6 people behind him) are rebelling the industry. People looked down on them but now he’s Korean pride. Bring money to country 0.5% GDP per years. He or They are the top of the top. And it’s been a long time. The day is come. I’ll go shake my head at agustd concert for sure.

Agust D is the other name that Suga goes by when doing solo work. He came out with two mix tapes under that name back in 2016 and 2020 (Daechwita single is on the second mix tape). You might want to check out the Daechwita behind the scenes Music Video Sketch from Bangtan TV (KZfaq channel). Here Suga explains that the old Agust D is now a mad king and the other Agust D is confronting him (notice they both have the same scar). Also, FYI, Agust D will be going out on tour this April & May 2023 💜

The car is a Hyundai Grandeur (badged as Hyundai Azera outside of Korea), *the* luxury status symbol ride for the Korean upper class -- and their mobster equivalents -- in the late '80s and the '90s. If you see one in a Korean drama, it's generally shorthand telling you that the character being driven in it is a gang leader.

As to the headbanging, in the beginning all those people were bowed as low as they could when "king Agust d" was around, and he even stood on their back and was chopping off their heads. In the end it's an uprising. When "street Agust d" rolls up they're bopping with his song as he overthrows the king. It's sort of a battle between old Agust d (suga was blond back then) and the new Agust d. With some shit talking about haters also. I'm pretty sure the tic TOC was about time not the app because he talks about time being $ but his time is worth more than that. You can also see jk and Jin as cameos in the opening scenes, they have a little fight when suga bumps into Jin. I like watching you guys because you remind me of my late husband, our army friends, and him being stationed in Korea and me joining him even though I wasn't supposed to. (I'm a free citizen, I didn't ask the army, I got my own visa and flew out with my baby a month after hubby left) Korea was awesome and since my husband died last year, any good memories of him are welcomed. (He was army supply ) 💜 also, ARMYs can get overwhelming because we love these guys and want to spread their msg of love around. We can be protective but some fans take it too far, while the rest of us just overwhelm you with suggestions etc. It's your channel, even if we offer constructive criticism, you don't have to do anything you don't want, I'm just glad you're giving BTS a chance. You're being respectful so idk why some people get weird. You do you & thx for sparking cool memories for me. eta: the executioner was also the butcher from the beginning , they shared a look as he walked in the market. He cut the bindings. You guys were right, it was out with the old in with the new, old Agust d vs new Agust d 🙂 if you ever are confused, if you look up the song plus doolset BTS on Google, they break lyrics down a bit by including both cultural references as well as when the guys reference past songs or things they've said in the past 💜 I purple you 💜 borahae 💜

Chicken...GOOD! I am a meat popscicle! Fifth Element is a classic! I'm glad you guys liked this one - it's a great song. I like to think of this one as Suga taking himself down a peg. He reached the top and maybe went a little crazy with it (the blond king Suga who is beheading people and stepping on the backs of his courtiers). So, current-Suga (peasant version in the MV) is announcing he's reconnected with his roots and this time he's going to be more grounded. The courtiers start head banging with him because they support him now. He might have lashed out at the haters before out of fear, self-doubt, defensively. Now, he knows who he is and they can still go to hell but he doesn't care about their opinions anymore. Something like that. I think "Daechwita" is more like heraldic music, a fanfare - "The King is coming! Bow down before the King!" and everyone kneels or gets the fuck out of his way. The crazy king might think the music is for him, but it's not.
@frang2034
@frang2034 Жыл бұрын
I agree a bit with your interpretation of Yoongi taking himself down a peg. When this came out, BTS had just finished MOTS 7 and was planning a world tour followed by a break. I wonder if this isn't Yoongi(dark haired modern guy) 'killing' his identity as BTS star Suga (blonde haired king) and looking forward to Chapter 2 of BTS. If you think about it, that's what RM and J-Hope did in their recent albums. Yoongi was just first and then there was an unexpected delay of the break as the pandemic never ended and Dynamite, Be and Butter came out.

So the car in the MV is a classic Korean Hyundai from the 80s (Grandeur Azera). To own this car was a symbol of wealth. Daechwita is a traditional marching music but it is also played as a ceremonial walk which was played when the king or royal family would arrive. In the context of the video, that's ceremonial. Fun fact: if you watch the video again there is a cameo from Jungkook and Jin in the market alley (the two guys fighting).
