I just got myself a BigFish 105 also, and love it. Was thinking the same thing with the yoga mat, glad to see others are thinking the same thing. Thanks for the video.

+Chad Meehling your welcome and you definitely want to added the yoga mat. I was out Thursday night and it kills the noise. I even noticed the difference just doing little things like setting rods down changing baits or if I dropped my pliers. Thanks for watching and the comment

I did this mod to my 105 back in early Spring. My heels have wore out the mat where they rest while paddling. Other than that it has held up pretty well. Super dirty now too. I didn’t take as much time to template the mat. I didn’t want to mess with the deck screws. I did cut out the mat in the back where the seat rests in back groves in the low setting so I wouldn’t tear the mat.

The heels wearing it out was why I attached it with Velcro. Figured it would be a mess if I glued it down if I ever had to replace it. Thanks for the info and for watching!

@@ArkansasFishingVideos I'm planning on putting a more durable product down next time, but this was a quick fix on my first kayak so that I wouldn't go crazy every time something made a thump in the boat. It's amazing how loud every movement is on that plastic deck.

Agree completely, that’s my only complaint with the Kayak is how much noise the floor makes. Keep me posted on the product you decide on, please.

Has anyone considered putting, like the yoga mat under the deck plate to dampen the sound? That way, it will never wear out, as you are not walking directly on it. I just got the Big Fish 108, and think I will try that method. Plus, it wouldn't have to be glued at all since it would be sandwiched

The only issue I can see with that would be drainage. The 105 has holes under that panel, but I have never seen a 108 up close. If you try it out let me know how it works for you and I agree the not glueing or velcroing would be a big benefit for sure. Thanks for watching and the comment.

In the process of upgrading from a sit in to a sit on top, knowing what you know now with the deck of this kayak would you have gone a different route. I’m down to the Big Fish 105, and Old Town topwater 106. Thanks! Also, Central Arkansas fisherman!

The deck noise would not have been a deal breaker for me at all. I looked at the Old Town and I think it was a little more than the 3 Waters but not by much, if you can, go paddle both and see which you like better, most shops will let you do that or have demo days. I wanted one that would not break the bank, was stable cause I'm fat and clumsy and I could load and um-load easy. The 3 waters hit all those points for me, I do wish I had gotten the rudder and will be adding that in the near future just to help with the back end drifting. I have been seeing some horror stories about shipping companies UPS, FedEx and some others not taking the best of care when delivering kayaks so be careful if you order one. Should you ever decide to take the velcro off completely, how would you remove the residue it might leave behind?

My thinking was that if I have to replace the matt at some point I would only have to the place the Velcro on the the matt not the part stuck to the Kayak. But if for some reason I have to replace it all I would use a citrus based cleaner, Goo Gone or Simple Green to get the residue off or good ol elbow grease and hot soapy water. It’s right at 34 inches wide so you can totally stand up to fish. With the seat in the high position you can get your feet under you enough to stand right up but it also come with a stand assist strap near the cup holder. The weight price and ability to stand was what sold me on it. Thanks for watching and the comment.

I after much research decided to order the same kayak in that terra camo color. My question is how did this velcro idea work out compared to a spray glue? because I agree about it being difficult to remove after it wears out which it will.

So far so good although I have not been out in as much as I would like since putting it in, work getting in the way a lot. The velcro will make it easy to pull out and clean as well. How do you think this kayak would do on the little red river or buffalo?

I think it would be fine on the buffalo to float and fish same for the Little Red. But if the water was high and running like after a heavy rain or the dam running a unit or two not sure I would put it out there. It’s stable enough but does not maneuver quickly in my opinion. Are the screws not long enough to place the mat under the floor? That seems like it would be easier and more secure?

Scott they might be long enough but they are pretty spread out and I figured the foam matt would rip or tear from around the screw head, it’s fairly thin. So far the worse that has happened is that I caught the edge of the matt with my foot and pulled it up but all I had to do was stick it back down, the velcro as done a good job for me so far. I wonder that myself but once I have the plastic piece off I’m not sure you could sandwich the matt between the two. I think it would put a lot of pressure on the screws that hold the plastic piece to the kayak floor. Thanks for watching and the comment.

Spray the whole thing with plasti dip. Its very duribale and has a rubber texture and when and if it gets a worn area, all you have to do is respray that area. Takes the noise right out.

Are you still happy with the plasti dip? Did you remove the floor and then spray it. Any lessons learned advice. Thank you for the suggestion. I assume you used the standard Plasti Dip Spray, Multi-Purpose Rubber Coating that is available at Walmart? How many coats? Would you spray both sides?

Yep, I’m 6 foot and about 225 and can stand and fish. The seat sits high enough that you can get you feet under you enough to just stand right up, it has a strap in front of the cup hold to assist but I can stand without it. Thanks for watching and the comment

Standing is the big selling point for me..!! Im a little guy, 5'6" 120 lmao should be plenty stable for me
