i also bought mine from austin kayaks i payed the full price of 799 but i saved more then u did for it at austin kayaks they offer package deals and 10% off on the kayak if the order is packaged with a beaver tail rutter that is assembled before it is shipped so it is all ready already the package deal was 150 dollars more for the rutter to buy the same rutter separate u will spend 200-250 dollars that u have to assemble so i think i made the right choice on the package deal

Great review, lots of info I didn't get somewhere else. On the last seconds of the video we can see some kind of additional light blue coating on the seat. I've always been afraid of those high position mesh seats - it doesn't seem that comfortable for long fishing sessions for someone in the heavy range, where rubberized/foam seats seem more gentle for your cheeks. Would you have any opinion on this ? Thanks!
@ArkansasFishingVideos
@ArkansasFishingVideos 3 жыл бұрын
I don't have any trouble with my butt getting tired and I think it's because of the way the seat is design. Even in the high setting it keeps you knees high and butt back so there is not a lot of pressure directly on your bottom. The is the best way I can describe it is and sorry in advance but you know how you legs will go to sleep if you seat on a toilet seat for to long because you are sitting level and all the pressure is right on your "cheeks" and legs, you don't get any of that with this seat. Now it's not perfect and sitting on anything for hours I think will at some point will cause some discomfort but in this kayak you can always stand up to take a break and relieve some pressure off the back side. I am average height and weight (220) but 3 Waters has a guy that is part of their team and he is 7 feet tall, his name is Brandon Mayes I would shoot him an email and see what he says (thatbassfishingdude@gmail.com) if he can fish all day without issues anybody can. Thanks for watching and the comment, hope this helps.

@ArkansasFishingVideos
@ArkansasFishingVideos 3 жыл бұрын
You're welcome, glad the video was helpful.I would agree with the box complaint and I think it's the latches, they don't put a lot of pressure on the lid to hold it down but I am not sure a fix for it at this point, if I come up with one I will post it. Thanks for watching and the comment.

Does it feel durable like it can take a beating? I’m in the same boat you were no pun intended I can’t decide between the rs117 or the big fish. Unfortunately i don’t have any dealers by me so i have yet to see either in person. I hear the rs117 feels kind of flimsy. I will also be using the boat for hunting not just fishing so durability is a huge factor for me. I think the video of the three guys in the big fish might have sold me though. Any input would be appreciated thanks
@ArkansasFishingVideos
@ArkansasFishingVideos 4 жыл бұрын
The Big Fish is pretty solid and it came down to price for me because we have the boat we built to fish out of as well. I wanted something lite, stable and would not break the bank and it meets all those in my opinion. I think for hunting if I was just paddling into a spot to deer hunt and hauling one out I would be fine, I think the max weight is 380, it would be a tough paddle back with my kill but you could get it done. If it was duck hunting something like timber I would just watch out for stick ups and something that may poke a hole in it, 3 Waters says they are bulletproof but my dad use to say I could tear up an anvil with a rubber hammer😂so if there is a way to screw it up I will find it. It is tougher plastic than something like Wal-Mart brand and feels solid when you press on it. I would get on Facebook and look for a 3 Waters group in your area, I'm sure someone would let you come take a look at theirs, same for the RS117. Hope all this helps, thanks for watching and the comment.

im buying this boat an have bought all sorts of little things for the rail system to make it more efficient what im not looking at is the pad thats in front of the seat thats plastic and loud would like to either replace that pad some how or put a this rubber cover over it to cover up some of the loud noise caused by moving around in the kayak and would add tracking and better move ability

@gruverdog1

@@ArkansasFishingVideos there is all kinds of mats out there just as long as it does what u want it to is all that really matters. Till u find something more permanent. I was thinking of running a custom deck pad design through out the kayak and even on the sides with possibly black pad with florecent green trim something that would match the kayak mainly for looks but to simply get out there with less noise i think i may look at a simple rubber car mat and cut it down for fitting if needed. I also was thinking of using val crow placing strips where the rail is not existent and placing the other side of the val crow on my net and on my paddle so if i need to simply set my paddle down or get to my net easily with out digging for it while reeling in a big one it will be more accessible. Plus using val crow for such things will free up rail space to put other things u may want to mount on it.

@@ArkansasFishingVideos i already have 3 rotto grips which i will place on tracks once kayak arrives in shipment they will be used for anchor pole and paddle in the dozens of vids i seen i saw so many with the paddle on there lap reeling in a fish and the paddle gets knocked off their lap and ends up in the water and then seen them flipping the kayak or almost flipping it reaching for it.

Is it easy to carry from your truck to lake, basically a close walk...very close...or would you recommend a cart ? I see a lot of people are getting holes in the keel from dragging them
@ArkansasFishingVideos
@ArkansasFishingVideos 4 жыл бұрын
Most of the places I fish I can pull close enough to the bank that I just unload it and slide it in the water. If I had to park more than a few yards away I would buy or make a cart. It's not so heavy that you can't lift it but it would be a aukward carry if that makes sense. Thanks for watching and the comment.

Been looking at fishing kayaks for a while. Having trouble deciding between the big fish 105 and lure 10. Did you consider the lure? I like that it’s lighter and has the wheel, but I like the design of the big fish 105 better. Just wondering how big of a pain it’ll be to unload out of truck with cooler/poles etc. Wheel sounds like it’d come in handy. Fellow Arkansan here and gonna by mine from Carr’s also! Glad I found your channel!
@ArkansasFishingVideos
@ArkansasFishingVideos 4 жыл бұрын
I actually did look at the Lure but I think it was a little more. I definitely like the way the seat in the Lure works. The 105 is easy to load and unload, I go pretty lite when fishing out of it so I down carry a lot of gear, all my bait boxes fit in a milk crate (Lowes for like $5 bucks) and I only carry a rod or two. Once you start fishing out of it you will get a system down that works for you I can get on the water pretty quick once I'm there and I am messing with video gear as well. If you are fishing someplace that you have to park and walk to launch the wheel in the keel would come in handy. Thanks for watching and the comment, good to know a few Arkansas folks are watching.

Hey buddy great video. I recently got a Big Fish 105 and took her out on her maiden voyage yesterday. I did notice that when I stood up a decent amount of water came up through the front scupper holes. There was a good amount of water that pooled up in the cock pit. Once I got it home I noticed there was water inside the hull. I had to drain it out using the drain plug. I was thinking possibly that water got in through the screw holes that hold the plastic standing platform in place. You ever run into this?
@ArkansasFishingVideos
@ArkansasFishingVideos 3 жыл бұрын
It’s totally possible that water is coming in through those screw holes, I have heard of other folks having that same problem. There are 6 ( I think 6) holes under they deck as well, I went to Walmart and got a bag of foam practice golf balls and stuff them in mine. Just flip it over in the yard and you will see them, the foam balls fit perfectly and are cheap if you ever have to dig them back out for some reason, I have regular scupper plugs for the ones on top in the front and that fix about 95 percent of the water getting in mine. I would definitely contact 3 Waters if you have a lot of water in the hull and don’t feel safe in it. Thanks for watching and the comment!

@@ArkansasFishingVideos Thanks for the reply. It was prob 2 cups of water total but I was on the water for about 7 hours yesterday. When I stood up, which is really easy, I noticed a bunch of water coming in through the front scupper holes. I actually had some foam golf balls that I converted to scupper plugs for my last kayak that I will use. I also may take that plastic board off and then reattach it and also put marine sealant to ensure that it is less likely to leak. In fact I may even try your yoga mat idea while I’m at it. Your channel has some good content. Subscribed to see more! Thanks again.
