I don't usually comment on youtube videos but I have been moved to do so. I've been having a really rough couple of days with my chronic illness(es). Last night I found myself channeling Jaquie. I was thinking about the day and how hard it had been but I was grateful that I got through work before my worst symptoms started and I was grateful that I had been able to eat. Then I gave myself a double thumbs up and realised... I was channeling Jaquie. And I'm grateful for that, too. I have always tried to remember to appreciate the small things, with varying success. Watching you every day, enjoying the 10-15 minutes I spend with you, helps to drive that into my brain so I do it without realising. So thanks, basically, for helping me be better at that.

I can not imagine how much energy you need to bring up every day just to do things I do without even thinking about them. You are such a strong woman and Judd und Harlow seem to be an awesome help. I hope you will always stay as happy as you seem to be now. You get me to be thankfull for what I have and think about many things I did not think about before. Greetings from Germany 🇩🇪 :)

I've watched every single video on your channel. From the beginning. I was subscribed to you when you only had 7 videos and I watch every single day! I love you! And now I spread awareness of service dog laws and chronic illnesses (though I have neither) and I advocate and support accessibility. And it's all because of you! When I wanted to learn about service dogs, I found you! And now I consider myself extremely knowledgeable. Thank you for everything that you do! You are amazing and your videos are the best part of my day

Watching your videos helps me so much! I have POTS, gastritis, IBS, fibromyalgia, asthma, and we're currently suspecting gastroparesis and EDS as well. Seeing other people to truly understand is so comforting! Most people cannot fully understand the struggle unless they personally experience it. It's so hard to feel exhausted, weak, in pain, and sick almost every moment of your life. Some days I feel like nobody around me understands. They think I'm exaggerating, or lazy, or using my health as an excuse for not doing things. But watching your videos is a great reminder that there are people who really understand the struggle of chronic illness.

MCAS in your digestive system could contribute to gastritis. Treating it with cromolyn sodium liquid ampules dissolved in water and/or quercetin + an H2 inhibitor (antacid) + Singulair/Montelukast and diet -- low FODMap -- could help your gastroparesis and gastritis. Also, Gaia's Reflux Remedy rocks! Helps soothe but doesn't reduce acid production to interfere with digestion since we need acid to digest.

So glad about your doctor. Try to remember, that whenever someone is changing something, like in your case when you want to try an increase in your feeding tube, always take the smallest increment you know of and the longest way to do it, and just be happy with that little bit for as long as you can, when 2 weeks go by or longer if needed then consider a change. This may be crucial for many people on many different kinds of changes, like a woman once needed to increase a workout for 5 minutes longer than usual but it was too much, so she actually went to see how she could just add the 5 minutes in the week and felt good about that, eventually it all happened, but in her time. Any improvement is always okay, just do it in your time. Chronic gastritis stinks no matter how little, but there are simple healthy ways to deal with it and it does take time but you have to be accepting of it. That said even with the tube change it is highly beneficial to avoid greasy foods, chocolate and high fatty foods, that wonderful nutritionist from the hospital. Prayers that it all goes well for you. Blessings.

I had pretty severe gastritis, and once it's under control, you realize just how much it was impacting your quality of life. Granted I had inflammation of my entire GI tract, but the pain and bloating in my stomach was definitely much more noticeable before I went through chemotherapy. Hopefully being able to vent will relieve a lot of pressure, and help out. I've got multiple things going on (still sorting it all out), but the GI issues are definitely what stopped me in my tracks. Seizures suck, and the general aches and fatigue suck, too, but once I couldn't eat, I really didn't have an option other than to stop everything aside from seeing doctors.

Hello, Jaquie! I hope you see this but I've just started owner training my service dog and I was wondering how you trained Harlow to only go to the bathroom on command and not just any time she's outside. I haven't started working on that yet, she's not even house trained yet, but I really need to figure that out and I can't seem to find anything online about it. Thanks, and again, I really hope you see this and get the chance to reply. ❤🐇

Raven Moore Thank you! That's one thing I'm really concerned about because I knoe hoe to housebreak a dog perfectly but having them realize that not every single time you go outside, you're allowed to go to the bathroom, I think that could be genuinely really hard and even with so many hours of research, I haven't been finding any methods that people can one hundred percent say that they work.

I don't have a service dog but I did train my pup to go potty on command. The way i did it was at the beginning I chose the spot that I would like her to go on and haver her some radius to search for her perfect spot. Once there i would give her a command like "potty" and once she did her business i would click and give her a treat saying "good potty". After she got that down I started changing the spot but not the command and she catch on pretty quickly. Now she knows that she can only potty outside when I give her the "potty" command. Of course always set your pup up for success by doing this right at the moment when you know she/he has to potty. Just remember that this is going to take a while and to be VERY VERY VERY patient. Hope this helps
@allergiesrusdb
@allergiesrusdb 7 жыл бұрын
Logan von Rochow Hi! As a service dog partner & trainer for 9 yrs, here are the ways I've always trained my service dogs to 'potty on command'. You are starting at a perfect time, as it sounds like your pup is quite young! So you will take your puppy out to potty, on a leash of course. I prefer 6' or 7' leashes for pottying. You will take puppy to the potty area and you will simply plant your feet. Your puppy can walk around within the confines of the leash length. You can even say "Get busy' or 'go potty'. (I prefer the cue 'get busy', especially when in public.). Always have treats in your pocket too. When puppy potties, give a treat and immediately take puppy inside the house. Be sure you consistently do it this way. Your puppy will learn that going out on leash with you, and you standing still giving the command 'get busy', puppy will potty. If you want to play with your puppy outside, then potty him/her the same way above, and then go back in the house. Then when you get inside, you can then turn around and walk back outside to play. This does make a difference!! If you take puppy out to potty AND play without coming back inside inbetween, then many times our dogs will play for a bit, then potty. And maybe you are feeling awful one day and you need puppy to potty so you can get right back into bed. So it's important that puppy knows that when you go out and say 'Get busy' or 'go potty', then puppy will potty on command. If you are CONSISTENT, puppy will quickly learn to potty on command! PS-Sometimes puppies need to walk a bit before going potty. This is where having a 7' leash helps. You still need to plant your feet and not walk all over the yard with your puppy. But if your pup doesn't potty when you take him out, then try taking 2 or 3 steps one way and then walk back to your starting point. But most times, your puppy will learn quickly that it's time to potty! Good luck!

I totally understand how big a deal it is to find a good AND knowledgeable dr!! a kind dr is fine but if they aren't knowledgeable then it's not helpful. I'm SO glad you've found such a great dr!!!! I have a question- Im in my early 30s and have been using a cane for a few years now but it's gotten much harder to stand and walk with just the cane, usually if I'm going to a store I have my husband grab a cart so I can lean on it right away or if it's very bad I'll use an in store scooter. but I'm wondering, I'm a new subscriber so forgive me if you've gone through this. but how did you make the decision to goto a walker? did u use a cane first? it's hard bc I def want to push myself to do what I can but I also don't want to put myself in more pain bc I'm being stubborn. fun chronic illness catch 22! lol anyways any insight is greatly appreciated! ❤ hope today is one of the better ones! ❤💪

Hi Jac! I have been following you for a couple days now and I wanted to talk about something. So I have asthma and I’ve noticed over the years that it has gotten progressively worse. When I was little I used to get bronchial pneumonia twice a year but it went away when I had a tonsillectomy in 2011. Now I have got back into my bronchial pneumonia again and it takes a long time for my lungs and my respiratory and immune system to get well again. I am going to be pulmonologist soon to find out why I have been catching anything that comes around and getting sick because I always need allergy meds and when I’m sick I need my nebulizer. I was thinking that if I get diagnosed with a disability of some sort if a service dog would help a lot with not just my everyday needs but also being there when I’m sick. When I am sick, I cough and cough so much that it almost becomes impossible to breath and it is hard on my lungs so I don’t get any sleep when I’m sick. So maybe a service dog would help? What do you think?

I saw in the last two videos you've been using your walker. I'm curious where did you get yours? As a mobility aid how helpful is it in comparison to a wheel chair?

Liz Cole It depends in your symptoms. A wheelchair is better if you can't walk much at all but a walker is better if you just need some support and a seat sometimes lol

Liz Cole good question! I asked a similar one but asked it in reference to going from a cane to a walker. I've had a cane for a few years now and it's helped me walk n stand w a little less pain but lately it's been too painful to do much of either but I dnt think I'm ready for a wheelchair yet but not sure abt the walker. I dnt wanna move to the next stage til I absolutely need it but I also dnt want to be hurting myself for no reason ya knw. I hope you find the device that helps you best!

Did you get Harlow as a puppy and trained her by your own with help from a coach or did you get her as a older dog who already was trained to be a service dog? PS: Can you do more videos when you training with Harlow? Love all your videos!!❤️

Elina Söderberg Jaquie has a whole entire video all about Harlow and answers almost every question about Harlow you can imagine. She also has a service dog 101 video which is very informative as well, even if you aren't getting a service dog/don't need one.

I so understand you!! Between having (M..E.) www.hfme.org/mesymptoms.htm , Fibromyalgia, diabetes Meningioma (small brain tumor) and a couple of auto immune diseases....it never ends! To find the right doctors also took me years. I am now on a low-dose of Chemo shots once week, which hopefully will help with pain and inflammation in my whole body. I am almost always exhausted, and in pain, dizzy, nauseated, vomiting....well, you know the drill :-( However, like you , I always try to live in the moment, and stay positive. Keep being strong girl, we love you and support you on your journey., Thank you for sharing your life with us. C.
