Hi guys! This is Jennifer that met you😊 I just wanted to say what a pleasure it was. You are truly an inspiration and two of the nicest people. I didn't think to say it at the time which I should have but I wanted to tell Judd thank you for his service in our military and in the police department. Stay strong and keep that beautiful smile😊

Hey Jaquie. I'm a new subscriber, I found you via The Frey Life, and you're amazing. I'm trying to increase my awareness of people with disabilities, and you also remind me every day to be thankful for my health (I don't have a chronic illness). You guys are so strong, and I have so much respect for you, and Judd who is always there for you. I hope your symptoms are doing okay today.

Harlow's such a happy pupper after her shower. Doing zoomies to air-dry a bit. I feel that with you telling us how to approach Judd and you if we ever see you outside is helpful since many people wouldn't usually know what to do and would wanna interact with Harlow first since she's a doggie. Staying sharp with the commands, Harlow! Keep it up and thank you for posting, Jaquie!

Target t-shirts are phenomenal! They're just to much softer than other shirts, you really can't feel them on your body. It sounds weird to describe it that way, haha, but that's the best way I can describe it.

A few days ago I saw a video of yours and ever since then I've been hooked. You are such an amazing person and your strength and kindness are so encouraging. I have an emotional support animal for my bipolar depression and social anxiety. It's a little rabbit that my doctor recommended and his name is Sprinkles. It's amazing how much animals can help us not just physically but emotionally as well. I'm so glad you have Harlow and Judd. Your team of love and support only grows with all of us. 💕 This comment has been all over the place. 😮 sorry. Just wanted to say, thank you. For sharing your story. The Atlas and I Do you mind if I ask about the recommendation you got for a service animal? I have depression, OCD, anxiety disorders and possibly autism. I've been thinking for a while about getting a support animal, but I'm not even sure what type of animal I would go for! Your comment has given me new ideas though, so thank you x
@theatlasandi2840
@theatlasandi2840 7 жыл бұрын
Phoebe Brunt Of course! I have gone through a lot of trauma throughout the years and it has caused my bipolar depression and social anxiety to become quite intense. I was going through probably the worst stage of my life and on day when I was talking to my psychiatrist, she strongly recommended I get an emotional support animal. Unfortunately living in a small apartment at the time, I couldn't get a dog. But I could get a rabbit. I got a title white haired and blue eyed, lionhead breed rabbit. He has helped me IMMENSELY. It's so odd that something so small can help with my often debilitating illness. I've taken him with me in a special backpack and I also have a harness, leash, and paperwork for him. Because he is an ESA (emotional support animal) there are certain places he can't go. But as Jacqui mentioned, service animals (inc ESA) can stay places without pet deposits, they can ride in airplanes (free of charge), and they can accompany you in certain places. Now I don't usually bring Sprinkles (my rabbit) to restaurants or grocery stores because they don't allow ESA category service animals. But they do allow service animals that are like Harlow who are 100% needed to help their handler. But yes I'll bring Sprinkles to a lot of places usually in his backpack. His companionship and my desire to care for him for some reason helps me greatly. So on really bad social days or sad days I'll just walk around with him and hold on to him so he is resting by my face. I find that helps me. He is very calm, has never but anyone, walks on a leash, obeys a few commands such a stop if he's hopping too far away, etc. he's quite intelligent. Silly little man ☺️ he is 4 years young. Rabbits usually get to about 8-10 years old. He is neutered. And he is a litter box trained animal. So he has free reign of the house and he only goes to the bathroom in his box. He also doesn't chew wires or baseboards, etc. He is an excellent emotional support animal and a wonderful tool in helping me function through my depression.

I really enjoyed this video. I have been watching your channel for a while now and I am very happy you are getting the answers you have been working towards :) I went 6 years with my symptoms getting worse, until I did my own research and came across POTS and found my own doctor. I liked this video because one of my main symptoms, is passing out and high heart rate. I've had 6 minor concussions in the past few years. So this video helped my explain to my boyfriend, who has been with me, like Judd has with you, "my caretaker" ;) but it is scary especially when you have no idea what could be causing it. So I hope you continue to get your symptoms under control, as I do with mine and good luck with your new feeding tube button, I've heard good things about it :)

I enjoy your videos so much and find myself laughing or crying with you or just learning from you (and Harlow). I have to admit though on this one I was wildly distracted around the 5:57 mark by the little girl climbing up the back of the shopping cart - so afraid she would fall or the cart would tip over on her. Thanks for sharing though - people are learning what dogs like Harlow really do but some businesses still give them a hard time when they try to take their dogs in (Frey life had an issue just the other day but by her account she was able to educate and it was solved pretty quickly) so I think the more information people get the better.

I have chronic pain and almost every time I go out with my service dog people are always trying to just pet him, then he thinks everyone is there to pet him. I don't really mind when children with special needs do because it brightens there day. My service dog by the way is an APBT 💝

Chronically Jaquie I think I might have to invest in some of the patches that say not to pet. Wonder if that will work with some people tho lol. I think with his breed they are more excited to, since I hear a lot "I wish more people would use Pit Bull breeds for this so they would get rid of the bad rep they have" which I have to agree on that note.

Same here. But my reason is because I've had to quit cooking. About burned the house down 3 times so hubby said no more. He eats microwavable foods, lunch meats, things he can fix himself & i basically live off peanut butter plus health powders that i mix with either coconut milk or water. Dr wants me to use the milk but it mixes better in water so I mix it in water and drink the milk by itself. I think it would be cheaper to eat like Harlow than the darn costs of these powders. Insurance won't cover them (OTC)..well, I do get a $50 OTC voucher if i buy online from them but I can get one of them at Walmart for $32 and insurance charges $50 for the exact same thing. I feel for Jacquie, thank goodness she has good healthcare.

That's so ironic I was clothes shopping yesterday myself too. Being in a wheelchair is hard to find clothing that fits comfortably and properly.

I have an incredibly mild case of POTS we realized when one day, actually the second day of June (great way to start my new year), when I passed out in the kitchen my dad caught me which was great. When we arrived at the hospital they said I was dehydrated which was untrue because I was sick the day before and so my mom made me hydrate myself. So we went to different doctors and welp we did a tilt table and my heart rate reached 180 BPM and at one time while sleeping it reached 200 something! We decided that where we live currently we just can't get as many test done for more accurate results. So I move really soon and we don't think we will get more test unless something happens because I am drinking pedialyte and Gatorade and that seems to be helping, so I really also think you are a trooper I am so so glad I do not have to use a wheelchair! God bless you girl! 🙌🏼❤️

We usually take our dog to a groomer to bath him but today I bathed him because we couldn't get him an appointment and when I was done he did THE EXACT SAME thing Harlow did!! We even have that same raised bed that Harlow has and he ran onto it and began rubbing his body on it😂

This doesn't have to do with this video. A few times when I've been out in public with my pup people would say “you should have a service dog, they should be allowed to run around, relax, and just be a dog." I was wondering if you ever get that? I think you should maybe do a video filming just Harlow and her day to day routine and antics; and how it isn't just work work work for service dogs.

I address this in my Harlow video because I get it all the time! I also make it obvious in vlogs she is loved and gets to be a normal pup :) Maybe I will do a separate video int he future BUT I am already working on SO many videos.

I use a wheelchair chair all the time since I can only stand for a couple minutes before getting too dizzy. I was diagnosed last August and now need to retrain my brain and body to be able to stand a bit longer so I can do a little more around the house. It's baby steps for sure but I am happy you show that it is okay to rely on these tools to make our days a bit better for us. I like when you say tools instead of medical equipment, it has made me no feel bad for needing my chair or assistance. Ps Love Harlow's cute after bath frizzy ears ;-)

Hi. I just wanted to say that I completely get what you go through with clothes. I have a sensory disorder and have a hard time with clothing. It's texture of clothing and I can't take really tight and not n stretchy clothing. I also have OCD, ADD, trichotellamania(not sure if that's how you spell it), anxiety. Watching your vlogs helps me realize that when I'm feeling down and that no one understands what I'm going through that there is people out there that understand what I'm going through. So thank you so much.😊

I hear ya about finding that balance... I'm getting such a kick out of watching you and Judd; you two are so freaking cute :-) BTW, they do make hairdryers for dogs that are really powerful and get the job done fast - sometimes almost too fast! I remember the first time I used one on my own dog, after we'd been out in the rain and his feet were muddy. The dryer sprayed dirt all over my kitchen! But he was a Standard Poodle, and they dry *much* more slowly than coated breeds.

My eyesight has been getting worse and I use my cane alot more and I'm not embarrassed to use it even though my boyfriend is there to help me, I still use my cane to get around. Thank you for showing me that it's ok to use my tools even though someone is there to help.

Thats where I get in trouble; I know they are service animals, but as an animal lover I always ask if I can pet the animal. I understand about trips (even short ones) tiring you out. I hate going to the store anymore because Im wiped out by the time I get home. I always have to rest before putting groceries away. I normally use a walker unless Im in a store then I use (on good days) a cart to lean on and on the bad days I use the riding carts in the store.

Heii y'all 🤗 I'm new here watching from germany. I have immense sleeping issues. They think it probably is narcolepsy but they are not sure because I have very unspecific problems. Right now I'm going to a lot of neck pain from laying so much and I seem to have some kind of a seprate problem with my neck because like with my long sleeping periods (18hours) I rarely get a day off from the pain. I just found this channel and I really love how you handel your situation. Even though my problems are not as bad I still have quite some things in common like the exhaustion from the easiest of things because my body seems like it's not really geting rest at night. Cheers from Germany 🖖 🇩🇪

Hey, Jaquie, I watch Peter and Mary Frey’s vlogs everyday, like I watch yours. In today’s upload (yesterday’s filming), Mary was talking about her experience with her feeding tube, and I think you should hear what she said. She said that her body only recently reached the point where it could tolerate her goal rate for her feeds, and that she couldn’t make any real progress toward it for a couple of months (she had her J-tube placed a full three months ago, on April 19) due to the pain and discomfort. Her doctors - I would assume her surgeon? - told her that it can take months to fully adjust to the feeds and tolerate a faster feeding rate, and that, now that she has, she’s switching to overnight feeds from 24-hour feeds. I might just need more time before your body’s ready for you to begin increasing your feed rate. In case you want to watch that part of the video for yourself, they titled it “Transitioning My Feeding Tube Schedule (7.22.17)”. Mary gives the update on her feeding tube situation starts at about 4.5 minutes into the video (roughly 4 minutes, 30 seconds). I’m not trying to suggest/recommend that try switching to overnight feeds eventually; I realize that your situation is very different from Mary’s. I know since you can’t eat much, that overnight feeds won’t work for you; I’m simply pointing out that it may take two months (or more) before your body’s ready for an increase in your feed rate. When you’ve mentioned that you’re stuck with less than 30 (mLs?) per hour in your videos, it sounded like you might be frustrated that you’re still struggling to get to your goal rate.
@ChronicallyJaquie
@ChronicallyJaquie 7 жыл бұрын
I did see that, my docs told me the same thing. My original goal was 45ml per hour but thankfully I am maintaining a good weight at 35ml an hour. But that is with 24hr feeds. I would LOVE to go to overnight or only daily feeds (I hate feeding at night, I get tangled and the pump goes off multiple times throughout the night) but I can't just yet. We try to increase every now and then, but I would need to be at 70 to switch to either only day or night feeds. But it may be possible with time! (:

I can meet you and Judd (and of course admire little miss Harlow, if she's there) My cousin practically lives in Target, she loves it for some reason lol. Not sure if anyone has heard of these or if they're just a local thing, but almost every big store around here has something called a Caroline's Cart. Its a regular cart with a chair attached to it. It can fit adults. They were designed for special needs children/adults but I use them due to my health problems (trying to get a POTS diagnosis) it's a life saver, with it we can still use a cart and my mom can still push me around.

I've been fainting for the passed 6 months which have lead to seizures, I go up to hours unconscious and non responsive. And i end up in hospital via ambulance pretty much everytime 😔 I still don't have a diagnosis and I'm undergoing heaps of tests, specialists and more. I also have a lot of chronic illness with this. Fainting definitely limits you on how you can live your life, I'm not even allowed to go to school to finish year 12 and I've lost many people including my boyfriend of 2 years because of my fainting. I love your videos and enjoy watching someone that experiences the same struggles everyday ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🙏🏻 love from Australia
