It has been a few months since I last did a knee friendly workout so I am excited to share this 30 minute knee friendly full body dumbbell standing workout with you all!! :) As requested, the workout itself is 30 minutes and the warm-up and cool down are 3 minutes each so the workout is 36 minutes overall. Also, it is both a standing warm-up and standing cool down!
This standing full body workout has NO squats, NO lunges, and No jumping! So, it is a true knee-friendly workout and apartment-friendly :) postpartum and pregnancy friendly strength training workout as well!
Try this workout 2-3 times a week and let me know you progress with your strength!
I hope you enjoy this workout that will sculpt and strengthen your body!
EQUIPMENT: I am using 10lbs in this workout but you can use more or less than me depending on what you have!
WORKOUT DETAILS:
first, we will start with a 3 minute warm-up:
- 30 seconds for each exercise
- 6 exercises
- 30 second break before workout
then, we will go into the standing knee-friendly strength workout with weights:
- 40 seconds on, 20 seconds off
- 3 rounds
- 30 second rest between rounds (feel free to pause for longer)
finally, we will cool down for 3 minutes:
- 30 seconds for each exercise
- 6 exercises

This comment just made my day - thank you! I always hope these workouts reach the exact people who need them! When I had my knee surgery, I had to fully revise my strength training programs to be accommodating to my limited mobility/pain so I want to continue to share the workouts I would do/still do when I have knee flare ups! Audrey, as much as I love your workouts, I wish you could also give signals for switching sides, transition to rest time, transition to interval time, or even during the rest time. Something like a beep would be sufficient. Sometimes it's hard for me to keep looking at the screen especially when the exercise makes you look down or I'm at the other side of the room. I've been doing some of your workouts, love them, but this is what I always find challenging when I do your workouts. Home workout is completely different than if we do it in the same room. Hope you're okay with this suggestion!

I appreciate the feedback and of course am open to your suggestions! I will have to reupload this workout with the sounds as you aren’t the first one to mention that it is needed! Which I 100% agree with and normally have them! This particular video uploaded without the beeping sounds by error and I didn’t realize before it went live. Normally, my workouts should have them counting down from 3 on the exercises and rest time so you don’t have to constantly look at the screen! There shouldn’t be other workouts that don’t have the beeps, unless they are my older ones! Which other workouts that you have done don’t have them so I can reupload those too? Something I don’t do is add a beep for switching sides and that is a GREAT idea! I normally write it on the screen but I should make an audible noise for that! I will also implement that in future workouts 😊

Loved this workout - thank you! BUT…it’s missing the “countdown” sounds! I need those for timing or I’m still repping when I should have stopped for the next part. I try to watch you for form but I inevitably glance away as I’m performing the exercises. Would you please consider adding them in? I know these edits /vids are a LOT of work! Ty :)

Yes the countdown beeps are essential! There was an issue during the export that caused them to go away and I didn't realize they were missing until I uploaded it already to KZfaq! Rest assured, I will always double check and it shouldn't happen again :)

Can I suggest you have a countdown timer sound or something to indicate when each set is over? Saves having to constantly look at the screen. I really like your music and the very visible timer. Would be good if you had a workouts with a bit more pace to get the heart rate up, as it was like you were on a go slow lol

Hi Melanie! This is a common comment on this workout! It is actually the only workout I have that doesn’t have the countdown sounds. Somehow during export, it eliminated them. 😭But my other workouts do have them! Also, I do a slower pace during the strength workouts since the goal of these ones is proper form vs how many reps you can get in during the time. The slower you go, the more controlled the movement is which leads to less chance of injury. If you find it too slow, I would definitely go up in weight!! My cardio workouts have a quicker pace too :)
