This is set in the Stanley Hotel of The Shinning - which I guess is the theme throughout.

@@infin8reactions Song is about not becoming or being some one else and how he found out who he really is not for what he portrays. Fun fact is Jared Leto is the main vocalist which is an actor who played joker and other roles in other movies

The video is an homage to The Shining, the bear is in the book. The typewriter, handball instead of basketball, skateboard instead of the boy on a tricycle. The woman stepping out of the tub. Those were part of Stanley Kubrick’s version of the movie. One of my favorite songs from Thirty Seconds to Mars

He is breaking up with himself, with his (2nd person inside him). Jared tried to be someone else but in reality this is who he is, an actor and musician.

I believe Jared explained it was coming to terms with who you really are and not the front we put up for others to see. Accepting the whole self as the true self, even the parts we dont like

Some really excellent songs are From Yesterday Echelon This is War Hurricane A Beautiful Lie The whole band really killed the alternative rock game before they went more electronic pop.

its him talking to his 'old self' who he wants to destroy...like i feel its him yelling at himself in a mirror, and being confused as to what to do next....as we've all done at some point. and the 'haunted house'.....is in everyone one of our heads...thats 'The Darkness' we all face this battle in some way..and yes, its a reference to the Shining...which makes complete sense..

@@infin8reactions It was awesome of course! The video was based on the Shining. This was the song that made them big. Looking forward to more 30stm reactions. Closer to the Edge and Up in the Air are really good ones and you can see who the band has evolved over the years.
