Depp turned what could have been a struggling costume drama into one of the most hilarious and biggest box office successes. He lifted the script to dizzy heights and brought all the other actors to the heights with him. They (the actors) all shone with great performances, because of Depp's character and his generosity of spirit. They didn't hold back.

That scene showed alot about norringtons character, up to that point you could tell he just thought of captain jack as lucky, and beneath him. After Jack takes the interceptor, and then the lieutenant says "he's got to be the best pirate I've ever seen" Norrington does something you don't see men in movies or real life do often. Concede defeat, and recognize he was wrong. After this norrington also never underestimates jack ever again

😃 I think my favorite "best pirate" scene was in "Black Pearl," when Jack arrives at Port Royal and makes a truly memorable entrance: standing erect atop the mast of a small whaleboat which is in the process of sinking, he times his step perfectly to land him on a dock, while his boat sinks behind him. 😸 Even though this is the first time we meet Jack, I'm loving the rascal's style already! 😏

@HQ actually his script was blank, during that part. There were ALOT of improvised scenes in that series. He didn't forget his lines, it was blank.

Johnny Depp had alcohol issues in the past so they wouldn’t have allowed him to drink anyway and if r got away with bringing in alcohol and getting drunk they would have fired him. It’s Disney and Disney is pretty strict so. The thing that made Jack Jack was because Jack was a main character ( which Johnny Depp was used too ) but he wasn’t important. If that makes sense. A lot of films do it because it hooks the audience and makes bigger fandoms meaning more money. Jack was only needed for the first three but when he died they initially wanted to properly kill him off. Johnny has never worked in that background before so they wasn’t as strict on him meaning he basically could do what he wanted too, which makes him a better actor.
