First off as a retired Executive Chef I can say there is nothing to compare to the Chefs table (which is what you are getting here) but at the price of RM 620 ($141.00 American at the time this video came out 23 minutes ago) I am surprised that they have the nerve to charge you for a beverage. Anyplace in the world I have worked the Chefs table has always included beverages of any kind. With the exception of DISNEY WORLD in Florida the Chef table did not include anything but water, even more here you had the price up front at DISNEY the only thing you knew was is the meal meat, fish or foul. The price was given to you at the end is is on par with what you are paying here

That was my main issue as well, as just a guy who's never paid more than $30 for a meal on himself. If I'm paying that much, I'd want a water, even just a fountain soda.

I noticed if u go to a mom and pop restaurant in Asia you get great customer services free drink or a free snack. I think when money comes into things (expensive high class restaurant) they lose alot of customer service by being less personable and there's no chance for even a free water.... I personally wouldn't ever pay this for a meal mainly because I'd never be able to afford it 😂 but even if I could I prob still wouldn't knowing I can get a decent steak for less than half that price. The hype for wagyu has certainly upped the prices on wagyu everywhere.
@kverreet
@kverreet Жыл бұрын
Might be a cultural difference, when you go to high end dining places in Europe you hardly ever get free water. Its always bottled water, usually from a fancy brand, to be paid for by the bottle.

0:48 Did you order the cold green tea ($0.79) or did it come with the meal? I have seen other videos of top teppanyaki and sushi restaurants in Japan that serve very expensive fare, but they include inexpensive tea or a mug of sake or a cheap bottle of beer with the meal. In the USA, drinks typically account for half the profits in restaurants, and high-end fine dining restaurants will offer very expensive wines, champagne, spirits and cocktails to the guest at high prices.
