kudos for mentioning Lainzer Tierpark, but I would also definitely add Kurpark Oberlaa, Pötzleinsdorfer Schlosspark and of course Donaupark :) as for trams, 1 is nice, but D and 60 offer even nicer views, not to mention Badner Bahn, both within Vienna and on its way do Baden

almost forgot about Steinhof... you can get there from Ottakring U3/S-Bahn station with buses 46A and 46B (Feuerwache am Steinhof)... once you hop off the bus, just continue through the gate, and a beautiful park with gorgeous vistas opens up... if you continue on the main path you get right to Otto Wagner Kirche (visible all the way down to Hütteldorf), which is not big, but stunning :) to get back to the city you either take those aforementioned buses, or from the Kirche you go down through the historical hospital complex to the bus stops, which can take you down to Hütteldorf

Her is 36 even if it has nothing to do with vienna. But there is on the weekends a train express which takes you within one hour to another capitol city. To Bratislava. Thanks for the video. I amlooking forward to my stqy in April.

as for transport, you forgot about S Bahn and OBB trains that you can also use with Kernzone ticket :) also Badner Bahn

Additionally, where can I find inexpensive accommodations for a night's stay at the end of March? What is the typical weather like during this time? I don't know why people are recommending the city pass so much, everything is walking distance, the trip to the Schonbrun is the only place that's an hour away on foot and costs around 4euro round trip meanwhile the pass is 17 euro so if you just plan to see see attractions in the city plus Schonbrun you will overpay. Discounts? if you consider 1euro a discount on otherwise 17 euro entrance fee (you still have to pay 16 euro entrance). You'll pay 17 euro for the pass while otherwise you'd just pay maybe 6-7 euros more for metro and entrance without the card, not worth it.

Good points...the Vienna City Card only pays off if you're planning to pack in a lot of activities during your trip. If you're planning a more laid-back stay, it might not offer the best value.

With the Vienna City Card, you can casually hop on trams, buses, trains, and the metro all around Vienna. Just remember, if you're heading to or from the airport, grab an extra ticket for that part of the journey. Enjoy your ride!

I will stay 6 nights and I notice that Vienna Card gives only 72hours access on public transportation. But it says that the discounts on attractions are valid for 7 days. Is that so? Than I will have a VC valid for get discounts on museuns but not valid for transportation?
