Wow, I was thinking about visiting Merida, but Los Heroes seems a bit more up to what I'm looking for. I guess I'm just going to have to visit and see. I love that they have a lot of fresh fruit and veggies there because I'm on a plant-based diet. This was another informative video. Thank you..

I was recommended your channel by another subscriber. This is only my 2nd video & I've already subscribed. Thank you for giving your viewers a balanced view of opportunities in Mexico. I look forward to learning from you until I'm ready to make that move in 6 months. Keep up the good work.

It's not... It works for many and they got hundreds more homes they're building so people are definitely swarming out to this area

But it’s only 10 minutes. I moved on the outskirts of Ajijic/Chapala to get a lower rent. I drive 20 minutes to get to Chapala. 30 minutes to Ajijic. 45 minutes to Guadalajara.

I see out your window that some of the units have plants in the front yards now. i wonder if the developer did that or the tenants? For that money, I'm thinking probably the tenants. I'd love to have a clean slate yard to plant stuff in. I wonder if they have any backyard space?

I know crime is everywhere. How do you choose the locations where you want to live. And is it safe outside of the communities? I'm still concerned with what happened to Shanquella Robinson and them dropping the case with no further investigation. How are we accepted their and are there any other Black Americans there that you can connect with?
@MoveAbroadandThrive11 ай бұрын
Keep in mind, the case with Shanquella Robinson dealt with 'Americans' fighting/killing each other. Nothing to do with Mexicans (if I recall the facts, Mexico is requesting one of the perps to be brought back into Mexico (but the US won't hand them over or assist in that process -- correct me if I'm wrong). Merida is a very safe place, as is many other places in Mexico. The only people who find themselves in situations are those out there doing stuff they shouldn't be doing. There's a large black population in Merida and in other cities throughout Mexico. I'll tell you that I've never felt safer than I do here in Merida (no where in the States compare), and I've been all over these United States of America. It's an entirely different type of lifestyle here (in a good way)

@@MoveAbroadandThrive Very true that crime is everywhere that's why I wanted to know as an outsider how safe you feel. Definitely was curious if there are folks you can connect with. Just started watching you videos and find them intriguing. Especially when Charlie is there. She's a natural. I usually follow those that moved to Africa and how they build their own. Because I watch so much of them, yours popped up. So I'm playing catch up. I've been thinking of doing the same. I watch videos like yours to see what the experience is like for you. I Especially like learning and the information you all provide. Just hear to learn is all.

@@stephaniejames4940 Welcome to the channel. We definitely love it here. I feel safe and have no worries when my daughters go out (ages 14, 16 and 21). It's a beautiful city and the locals are warm and friendly. Everything about this place is completely opposite of what the US would have you believe. Hands-down the best decision i made was moving here.

I went to Mérida in January, headed back in 2 months. I felt completely safe walking the streets. The Mexican people were warm and were unbothered by seeing a black man walk around, day/night whenever.
