Certain factions of evangelical Christianity represent a religious stronghold that seems to be one of the last bastions to be relinquished in mainline fundamentalism. It suggests the beginning of a major admission that an Almighty God either can't, doesn't or simply won't "deliver" many sincerely intentioned gays by freeing them from their sexual orientation to comply more with what religion insists be their reality or at least to live without indulging in such "unnatural" and "ungodly" appetites. This will make for some very interesting and intriguing conversations about the increasing advent of the "New Normal." Ready or not, here it comes and is! This is a real "What would Jesus do" moment in time and history.
For those asking: No, I am not pushing a so-called "Gay agenda," I am pushing and presenting a "freedom from religious tyranny" agenda and one that promotes a spirituality that transcends institutional religion.
Carlton Pearson
After college at the Oral Roberts University in Tulsa Oklahoma he served for 15 years on its Board of Regents, and two years as Associate Evangelist of The Oral Roberts Association, (ORA).
In 1977, Pearson founded Higher Dimensions Ministries (now New Dimensions ), in Tulsa, which grew to over 5,000.
Bishop Pearson was consecrated to the office of Bishop in 1996 thru a College of Bishops headed by Bishop Charles E Blake, presently the Presiding Bishop of the Churches of God In Christ, the denomination he was raised in and through whom he was ordained in 1971.
In 1993, Carlton married the former Gina Marie Gauthier who is a professional Life Coach and Yoga teacher.
More recently, he has felt a passion to proclaim the "Gospel Of Inclusion" and has written a widely acclaimed book by that name, published by Simon and Schuster. It confronts the Christian church's exclusivism as being inconsistent, in spirit with the teachings of Jesus.
Pearson's frank and often controversial take on a number of different subjects has earned him appearances on television programs such as NBC and MSNBC's Dateline, ABC's Nightline, 20/20, Good Morning America, CBS Evening News with Dan Rather, BET Tonight with Tavis Smiley, The Edge with Paula Zahn and Politically Incorrect with Bill Maher, The Monique Show on BET, and a number of other television, radio and print media outlets. Bishop Pearson was recognized as one of America's 10 Most Influential Black Ministers by Gospel Today and Belief.net. He has received several honorary doctoral degrees.
Bishop Pearson recently served as the Interim Senior Minister at Christ Universal Temple in Chicago. He and Gina now host New Dimensions of Chicago, building a local multi-cultural and radically Inclusive spiritual community that emphasizes expanded consciousness and Self Actualization. His newest book, God Is Not A Christian, Nor A Jew, Muslim, Hindu...God Dwells With Us, In Us, Around Us, As Us was published by Simon and Schuster and released in the spring of 2010.

Hi Glen, I so deeply understand what you are going through, because I went through this myself for quite a long time. It drove me to the edge, this fear. No matter how many people tried to get me out of this fear, it always seemed to grasp me back. It was after a lot of study of the history of the background of the bible and most of all by a personal contact with the divine that this grip was finally paralyzed. Christianity was forced on the world by the sword. - cont.

Not to place Jesus in a homoSEXUAL relationship but to recognize the obvious intimacy and profound and WELL SPOKEN love for each other. It his is something that is never ever talked about in our churches. It seems to me that we should be able to embrace the concept of same sex love based on this very interesting look at Jesus's "love life" . I also believe that the issue of the eunuchs should be taught as well..

Being asked by the Pharisees when the Kingdom of God was coming, He answered, "The Kingdom of God does not so come that you can stealthily watch for it. Nor will they say, ‘See here!’ or ‘See there!’ - for the Kingdom of God is within you."

Then, turning to His disciples, He said, "There will come a time when you will wish you could see a single one of the days of the Son of Man, but will not see one. And they will say to you, ‘See there!’ ‘See here!’ Do not start off and go in pursuit. For just as the lightning, when it flashes, shines from one part of the horizon to the opposite part, so will the Son of Man be on His day.

I believe the bible and everything it says also. But like Carlton I don't take every word in it literally. Some of what he says may differ from some of my own personal spiritual knowledge. But I'm not so dogmatic in my perspective that I can not appreciate his philosophy and spiritual insight especially as it a much better description of the Jesus I know than the religious idle that many churches pose him to be.

Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord. And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them. For it is a shame even to speak of those things, which are done of them in secret. But all things that are reproved are made manifest by the light: for whatsoever doth make manifest is light. Eph. 5:10-13 You couldn’t reprove anyone Carlson Pearson because you are a part of them (Lies) past and present. How can you HELP anyone when you yourself need so much?

I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom; Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. 2Tim 4:1-4

The same was true in the time of Lot: they were eating and drinking, buying and selling, planting and building; but on the day that Lot left Sodom, God rained fire and brimstone from the sky and destroyed them all. Exactly so will it be on the day that the veil is lifted from the Son of Man. Luke 17:20-30

Excellent video. Exodus was formed on an unhealthy spiritual premise and on a biblically inaccurate understanding that an angry God hates gay people. The demise of an organization based on positions that are in opposition to John 3:16 is a good thing.

You're very welcome. I don't know what is going on with youtube nowadays, but it is a bit messed up if you ask me. Yes, I think Bart Ehrman can help, and D.M. Murdock aka Acharya S. has also done a lot in clearifying the historical background of Jesus and the bible. Even if Jesus had existed, it doesn't mean that he perfectly reflected the divine. It's just that he was a massive political tool, very popular, and that in itself you can question --- cont.

Bishop I'd love to hear you talk about Jesus and John (the disciple Jesus loved) this being constantly mentioned in the book of John. Laying in Jesus's bosom at the suppers, even joined directly into Jesus's family at the cross by the words of his mouth, (women behold thy son! , behold thy mother ect) Jesus even told Peter "if I will that he tarry till I come, what is that to thee? In other words ( mind yo dam business) haha id love to hear your thoughts on that!

@Glen - Did you ever watch Zeitgeist for a survey on how Jesus was created ? It came forth from earlier mythology of other cultures and religions which was often used for political reasons. It has deep roots in astrologic signs. Best is to lay all cultural icons like this on the altar, not being burdened by them, as they can block you from plugging into the divine ... My experience was that I had to come empty before the divine, not with the ancestral luggage. It should be a unique contact. cont

But first He must endure much suffering, and be rejected by the present generation. "And as it was in the time of Noah, so will it also be in the time of the Son of Man. Men were eating and drinking, taking wives and giving wives, up to the very day on which Noah entered the Ark, and the Deluge came and destroyed them all

Derek, If you are totally for "The Gospel of Inclusion", which is wonderful, then you cannot EXCLUDE LGBT people. It's easy to always reference Romans 1 when it comes to this matter, but did we ever stop to think that what is written was not written with the intent of becoming scripture. They were simply the letters of the Apostle Paul, which pertains his viewpoints and understanding of God AT THAT TIME. Hundreds of years passed before his letters were canonized as scripture.

Okay lol, well by this sort of reasoning, not any prophesy by anyone ever failed, because you can always explain it symbolically, and then really the sky is the limit, and that is really how all these books got so much power. It is a heritage, and the ancestors defended it to any cost, even by breaking the rules. But we need to separate facts from fiction. Jesus was taken from the default sun god myths which were found in any culture around that time. It's always the same political patern.

Whatever!!!, but I beleive what this bible say's and all the promises of God are true, this book is infallible and you cant find error in it yourself. So dont judge me, because there is one who will judge the quick and the dead!!! So you need to repent and get your belief system in the right order of spiritual things!!!!!

Hey Glen, hope you are doing fine. Let me tell you about a failed bible prophesy. Jesus promised he would return, and some of those around him would not die before this happened, so it would happen in the time of a life span, not later than 80-100 years after. It didn't happen. Those who were around him all died. 2000 years later he still didn't return. And he won't return. It's all myth. What WILL happen is a higher degree of consciousness. That is some sort of rapture, but not a christian one.
