Here's a screen recording of a quick scan I did in the mountains of Mindoro Philippines for a location scout for a film project.
We can "walk" though the location like a video game.
Testing Reality Capture with Postshot. Beta had issues crashing a lot. v0.3.99 seems to fix most of the issues.

Great Splat. I haven’t tried post shot yet. I see you used the DJI Mini4 I was just looking at those and wondered how it would do for scanning. I work as an Assistant Art Director and have to do location surveys and scouts. But L l haven’t used a drone for that yet. Just ground scanning On another note my Grandfather lived on Mindoro. But I haven’t visited there in decades

Thanks! Gaussian Splatting is similar to photogrammetry but you need more coverage. You can now use Reality Capture and export the camera alignments and point cloud to PostShot. It's still beta and a bit buggy. Check out the website

Really shows the possible opportunities for this technique! While capturing did you do a 360 with a drone and also photos from ground level? For the drone, were any other passes required? Thanks!

Yes, It's uses are endless and Splatting will be a new industry standard soon. I made a few passes at various levels and more focused on the areas of interests. No 360 here. Splatting needs more data than photogrammetry in general so I shoot mostly videos.

KZfaq some Photogrammetry tutorial like this kzfaq.info/get/bejne/Y5eXqNCWmJvLdZ8.htmlsi=oMS_yWrICdtrPwgg The idea is to get a lot of good coverage in good lighting. 3D Splats needs more coverage than Photogrammetry though but the idea of coverage is nearly identical.
