Your presentation style is top tier. Awesome tech too. It would be fun to see some sort of comparison and summary of the 3D printing construction approaches you've covered at the end of the year or something like that.

I’ve visited MX3D during the Amsterdam Nord festival where a lot of the previously industrial area just north of the central station opens its doors to the public. Seeing MX3Ds creations in person is incredible. It looks like the bridge might be installed opposite Cafe Bar De Stoof. I remember drinking in there one night when the local utility company came along and turned the power off since they hadn’t paid their bill! Anyhow, there was also a patch of land set aside in the north area of the city for some young engineers and architects to 3D print larger structures & decorative components for houses. They had build their own large scale 3D printer and were extruding what was probably an 8mm bead of recycled plastic to create the exterior shapes of components, then filling those components in with concrete. The results were impressive and they were able to create beautiful organic structures.

This is an example of a "Truly Infinite Axis 3D Printer", hypothesized by Andrew Bowyer, the inventor of modern FDM 3D printers, to be the solution to efficient large scale construction projects. Hope to see more like it in the future.

I'm seeing a 2 armed ABB. One arm would be wire feed metal printing the frame. One arm with a Diamond Dremel CNC type attachment polishing the product so that the finish looks like high gloss Stainless. Don't get me wrong that 'Meteorite' look was awesome for the hollow framed bike but the wire framed bike would have benefited from a secondary polishing arm that follows behind and removed at least the burring. If we could get a second arm following making the finish shine ... I think that would be a pretty significant innovation. Especially if you could get both arms working together so they aren't getting in each other's way ... I might just be onto something here !! LOL

What's the software called that they use to predict the best geometry?

I’m not sure what framework they built it on, I’d imagine it wasn’t completely from scratch but it does require quite a bit of coding to outline parameters in order to “predict” the best geometry.
