when i do custom drive shafts i cut a spring to fit inside the driveshaft to keep the slider centered then take a piece of carbon tube over the slider then use ca glue to bond one side of the carbon and not the other . this way rocks cant knock the shaft out and the carbon will slide on the rocks .

I have been running 3D printed driveshafts from my ender 3 for 2 years. Regular pla Plus brand is duramic recommended to me by Sparetime Hobbies. (Yeah I built an optimus) it was only intended temporary. It has lasted through 4S on HH puller pro 2700kv/Mamba X 7lb and 5lb trucks. I always just print them long and cut them. I printed three and have only needed to for my two trucks haven't even broke 1.

I would make the center part the same width as the space between the tubes when full compressed on the chassis and the spline full depth. As you can make them bespoke make them bespoke.

Please be honest have you ever seen anyone break the vitaton driveshafts for the axial ryft I have broken 4 or 5 different driveshafts

The only thing that I've seen take out the driveshafts in one run is the Castle Slate motors. That would be a good torture test. That plus test it out on a heavier crawler. If never had a splined shaft sheer. Usually plastic u-joints go before anything else.
