Today we visit the Anti-aliasing settings for Lychee Slicer once again and show some of our results. Check it out.
My NEWEST Lychee Settings (UPDATED)
Super Light and Light supports
1.10 - 1.22 bar diameter
0.10 - 0.22 tip diameter
3.10 - 3.55 tip length
raft - line/support triangle, or shape
bottom thickness on supports .30 - .25 - .45, raft is .50 (varies based on object mass)
Mediums
1.33 - 1.44 bar diameter
0.33 - 0.44 tip diameter
3.33 - 3.55 tip length
raft - line/support triangle, or shape
bottom thickness on supports .45 - .50 - .55, raft is .60 (varies based on object mass)
Heavy
1.55 - 1.77 bar diameter
0.55 - 0.77 tip diameter
3.55 - 3.77 tip length
raft - line/support triangle, or shape
bottom thickness on supports .50, raft is .70 (varies based on object mass)

Thank you! Both of your videos are a "MUST SEE!" I will watch them both again before I start printing again to make sure I have the right AA settings for my print jobs! WOW!

Thank you, yes the AA settings are a bit of a hard thing to nail down when you get started as it can be a bit confusing as to what setting work best at each layer height, resin type etc. Thanks for watching!

Id be curious to see this same test run on 28mm miniatures instead of large statuettes. Ihave found that even barely perceptible layer lines will catch painting techniques like ink washes and drybrushing and ruin the finish

I'm just away to try all this with my new saturn 2 I've got the exposure on point, it's the Voxel lines that Annoying the heck out me!. On the tops of the heads amd shoulders etc I see on your model all the voxel swirls on the 6 pac just wish there was a way to remove these completely without using that guys airbrushing resin in the model lightly but it worked quick spray amd 10 second cure they were gone on a Cape and a Cape is nuts for voxel line's being smooth n curved! He doesn't advise doing this if you don't know what your doing but his results were just unbelievable doing this so worth a try! Chitubox AA is ment to work alot better that lychee but it's lychee I like to use so the AA doesn't really work all to well yet!.

Chitu seems to work better for Elegoo machines as far as AA, Lychee seems to work best for other types. In my honest opinion the visible lines still bug me, and there are some no matter what. I am currently upgrading my farm soon, so we will see if the new machines will produce less lines in 12k.

I am using a Saturn 2, that is a nightmare, no AA option is currently working.@@IPrint3dMinis

Lychee AA won't work for me... no matter what setting :(

What printer are you running? What is the resin? Some resins do not work well with AA at all, and some printers do not support levels higher than AA 1.

@@IPrint3dMinis I'm using the Phrozen mighty 8k. Actually it is working now once I updated firmware on printer. Also, what px radius should I use for a 28um pixel resolution? In the lychee documentation it states that printers with a pixel width of 50um need 2px, whereas a printer with a pixel width of 35um needs 3px.

@@brendon6930 Glad you worked out that issue. That should have great AA capabilities for sure. For 28um I still recommend 3 px.

@@IPrint3dMinis Ok thanks so much! I still don't get what High definition anti-aliasing is supposed to do. It seems to increase slicing time significantly.

I think it is a method in which they apply finer resolution to the exported slice layers, this should in theory increase the quality. I don't use it.@@brendon6930
