I know a lot of people consider this movie the weakest of the trilogy, but I say it's still amazing. J.K. Simmons is incredible as General Kai and his villain theme goes so hard. I love Po's struggle to become a teacher and master chi, and the climax is truly epic.

wait really!? it's either people have mediocre taste or i just have too high standards for story telling.... for me the weakest is extremely the first movie, i mean there's no way he got the highest dragon warrior title only to defeated a merely criminal kung fu prodigy... there must be a bigger purpose, the strongest is 2nd movie with the lore, bigger enemy and army, plus they can deliver the sadness and forgiveness really well, and 3rd one is still the continuation from the 2nd by exploring more spiritual energy and give an actual purpose why Po is the dragon warrior

"Knowing and accepting who you are" like since 1st movie Po known as a humourous funny guy, in 2nd it drive him to be sad and being hurt but need to find inner peace makes him so serious, the 3rd just coming back to circle after knowing his roots Just like Oogway, The Kung Fu Master and the Dragon Warrior turns out to be the most chill person

@@Zacman1123 Meaning he'd lose a lot of power if he used them as jade zombies. The chi he steals makes him stronger. By releasing them as zombies, he loses power and the best power he has is from Tai Lung, Shen, and Oogway.

@@Ash1627 He’s still mortal. You don’t have to be the most powerful creature in existence to defeat villains. That’s why I said he’s powerful, but not THE most powerful entity, considering the spirit world and demons do exist in KFP. Demons like Ke Pa or the White Bone Demon.

well of course, Chi has been used and mentions multiple times in american and japanese media, especially in Dragon Ball and ATLA, frankly said because chineese, japanese and korean comes from the same roots and this kind of spiritual energy is part of their ancient culture martial arts

The third movie touched my heart. Kai is one of the most powerful villains in Kung Fu Panda 3. Po finally meet his father. His chi is the strongest. He's the true dragon warrior 🐉🐉🐉✨️✨️✨️😢😢😢

Not many people catch this, but the villians of the 3 movies also represent 3 stages of kung fu enlightenment. Body (tai Lung) mind (Shen) and spirit (Kai)

I remember seeing KFP 3 on the big screen and it was great (my first KFP cinema experience btw). My favorite moments were with Oogway fighting Kai and Po fighting Kai, very epic! Side note: I’m looking forward to the 4th movie and to see how that one stacks against its predecessors.

In the first movie after Po's mom left him in the box we see her run away, turn and wave her arms to get the attention of Shen and the wolves, and then run farther away with Shen and the wolves right behind her. The implication is that she sacrificed herself to lead them away from where she had left Po.

There is a theory that Oogway was the one who changed instead of Kai. Meaning that Oogway was a Warlord with Kai until he became enlightened when the pandas taught him chi.

That is likely true as both he and Kai where supreme warlords but after Oogway was enlightened and turned, Kai felt betrayed as his friend was changing and he couldn’t follow. And since his friend nearly died and it was the pandas that saved him with chi, Kai felt that if he had all that power he could better protect his friend. Then that friend changed and left him behind. Evil vices then took Kai the rest of the way

I think I know what would have made this movie better. In the final fight, Kai should have tried using his jade warriors again, but to show how much stronger Po's chi was due to his strong bond with his family/village, his jade warriors are effectively weaker. Kai and Oogway's relationship should have also been explored more, with more drama on how Kai felt emptier with the chi, due to him not realizing it was about the shared bonds

Maybe he never sent out ooguay (idk how to spell it) bc the chi is like a power matrix. Like the sins in Shazam, if he sends out ooguay, then its just him.
