Truly shape and fashion these; Leave no yawning gaps between; Think not, because no man sees, Such things will remain unseen. In the elder days of Art, Builders wrought with greatest care Each minute and unseen part; For the gods see everywhere.

I enjoyed your sea stories. I graduated Class 99 (Oct '78). I was a 32 yo Ensign so I was an old guy to my classmates. I laughed my ass off at your completely accurate description of the San Clemente cactus. During the FTX (Final Training eXercise), my squad was moving down a gully near Wilson's Cove. I stumbled and fell full stretch into one of those cactus patches. My guys pulled me out and we finished the op and the 7-mile patrol back to camp. My squadmates then had a fun time pulling over 500 cactus spines out of me. I had completely forgotten about that until your 3rd phase story. Hooyah 99. But the way, I served with Al Huey in UDT 11. He was a Senior Chief at was about to retire with 38 years of service. A real legend.

So proud that my country has such brave, strong men. I mean mentally tough also. My nephew tried for Navy Seals but there was something wrong with his hips and he couldn’t do it. He was in every sport there is since he was about 6 years old, but came from a rich family and never had to face any hardship. From your videos I can see why he would struggle. I am 56 year old female but you are inspiring me to find ways to work mental and physical toughness training into my life. Thanks to all our military out there, vets and still serving.

I enjoyed these videos on BUDS so much. I was a Marine and went through PI in 87. I’ve wished over the years that I’d gone the Navy route and tried the SEAL thing at some point. It’s something I’d love to know if I had what it took. Oh well, maybe another life. I do hate the frigging cold and for me, that sounds like the worst. I respect all you guys for being able to push yourselves through all that stuff. I could listen to your stories all day. Thanks for sharing it with us as well as your service in the world’s toughest military training.

Your BUD/S & SQT pictures with your military appearance in line with Navy grooming standards ate shocking as they are a total disconnect from your current hair style & appearance. Your current look is about as diametrical opposed to military grooming standards as you can basically get. Hey, you’re out & no longer beholden to military standards & can enjoy the freedoms of civilian life but it’s just a trip to see you with short hair & beardless. You’re a handsome man & I’d argue your beard could be less extreme but that’s just me & to each his own. No judgements here. Thanks for sharing all of your Navy & SEALS stories along with all of your tidbits of knowledge & advice, it’s greatly appreciated. I am always fascinated by people’s paths & ehat led them to today, what & who influenced them, what ingredients helped forge who you are & what distilled tidits of knowledge & wisdom were critical. Some people are like “I got mine, so figure it out yourself” which is terrible selfish & a bad philosophy, not to mention a piss poor attitude & bad way to live. Thanks for being an open book & avoiding the very human & typical response of aggrandizing & fluffing up the past especially when it comes to the military. I was a combat arms soldier in the Army specifically Armor & there is a certain level of cockiness guys have for being a combat troop with a commensurate disdain for the rear echelon types of soldiers like support & finance. Believe me, before I got out I got a sham job doing support & for the first time in my military career I worked with females & males in an administrative capacity after being a combat arms soldier where we were either in the motorpool, training or in the field half the year if we weren’t deployed somewhere. The admin type jobs, at least in the Army, are a different animal. PT is easier & everything is generally more relaxed butbthat’s a whole other story. At any rate, that’s not a real reason to think you’re better than the non-combat arms or to have disdain for them. In the Army & like other branches there’s always a bigger dog like the Rangers & Special forces in the Army. Anyway, I have been struck by your humbleness which is amazing. You are rightly & deservedly proud of your US Navy SEAL career & accomplishments & should be. It is a huge accomplishment & no one can take that away from you. You have every reason to act elitist & like you’re better than everyone else especially regular Navy types & other non-special operations type from the other branches. You are a proud ex-SEAL & 100% should be but you’re not in the least bit sanctimonious, cocky or elitist when you easily could be. That’s an impressive sign of humbleness & maturity. I was watching one of Jocko’s podcasts & I was struck by his similar attitude. He described working with regular combat arms troops from the Army & Marines in Iraq & how squared away they all were & how their smaller spec ops type of unit really appreciated the firepower we could bring.🙂 Just amazing stuff. I also really admire that you tell it like it is & objectively delineate the good with the bad. For example, when you were describing the tragedy of your Sea Daddy Jake (may he R.I.P.). The Navy & military in general likes to frame itself a a “second family” & in a small & close knit community such as the SEAL teams, I am sure that perception is even more pronounced. However, like you described despite us being flawed human beings, if you make a mistake where you maybe require some help and/or are no longer considered an asset or maybe considered more of a liability, it’s easier for the Navy to kick you to the curb. It’s kind of dirty & an egregious double standard. Before doing such an extreme to someone who’s given so much to the Navy & the SEALs, You’d like to think the Navy at least tried and/or exhausted all possibilities in remediating a soldier or sailor to get them back on track. I think things are changing for the better in that regard Thanks again Chadd for sharing your experiences & stories along with your wisdom & philosophies. It’s a real privilege to learn from other’s paths & your takes are on point as you get the objective good with the bad instead of some fluffed up BS detritus as many humans are tend to do sadly. Man, hearing the story about your mentor Jake was rough & couldn’t have been easy for you to tel, but I admire how you told it how it is even describing your shortcomings during that episode. I admire your takes as you reslzly show your mistakes & flaws such as your FUBAR SNAFU ruck sack fiasco during Land Nav. Such a great story & lesson learned. Anyway, man thanks for being an open book & bearing your soul. Your channel deserves more subscribers but I’m sure it’ll grow. Keep up the amazing work & Godspeed.🙂👍

Get a ton more interest from sitting with a group of people watching one. I'm asked all the time, “ hey, Hey HEYyyy Man what have you got your face in? you missed the last 4 conversations….”! That’s one way to try to share a channel though at least. Anyhow keep going I know for me and probably a lot of guys and gals that you have great teaching ability in you.
