How you can you not love John Tortorella? He's is brutally up front, direct, and honest. Gotta love his passion. This is what this organization has been missing for years. Torts! Torts! Torts!

@@lcd2426 I would still take Tortorella over any other coach we ever had. I don't need a statue behind the bench. No thanks.
@ucntcitАй бұрын
i don't like insulting a team that tied a game with nine seconds left in the third at the end of what seemed like weeks of playing every other night top teams in the league. especially when you make a dumb goalie move in the period you're bitchin about. this team deserves a couple days off, NEEDS a couple days off without their coach up their ass.
@stevenjpatten7422Ай бұрын
@ucntcit I disagree. This team has been playing down to lesser teams. It's the typical losing Fkyers way and Tortorella is trying to break them out of that. He's was 100% right..Fedotov coming off the bench stopped two or three breakaways by the Islanders. He was the only one that showed up in that 2nd period. This team lacks a lot of skill.

I also like how passionate he is about the team. I want to mention the coach of the LA Kings in the year 2014 when they made 1000 comebacks and ultimately won the title. I was always amazed how they won the title with that coach who didnt appear passionate at all. Kind of the opposite to Tortorella. Maybe that was his strategy, to take himself out and let the players become more responsible. What the Kings did in 2014 was really amazing. I really think it needs a couple of key players with the right mindset. If some of the Flyers players really think they shouldnt be in that spot they will lose for sure.

The more he talks about what drives him and why he does what he does, the more respect I have for him as a coach. More than anything I think he’s misunderstood. He’s viewed as an uncontrolled hot-head. He’s much more complicated than that. There’s purpose behind everything that he does. I also think he’s evolved to get here. He’s gotten better with age.

When this team makes the playoffs, Torts has to be the Jack Adams coach of the year. Yes he is hard on his players but he does care deeply about them all. Everyone bashing Torts for throwing the team under the bus, but that locker room knows they can always be better. This team hasn't played meaningful games in a long time so these games are important for Torts to push his team and see what they can do. Cheers from Edmonton 🇨🇦

The Flyers have let too many Stanley cup winning coaches walk out the door here. I think Jones and Danny B know that and aren’t going to let the boys club of Holmer and Clarke make a knee jerk reaction this time and actually give our head coach the talent they need to win. I’ve always respected Torts as a head coach wherever he went. We should be so fortunate to have another not only Stanley cup winning head coach behind our bench but one as passionate as this. This man speaks like we as fans do.

Torts is that great High School teacher that was your favorite hockey coach. You won with him, and you learned from him. You never hated him, but you sure wished something uncomfortable would happen to him. Some people failed to live up to coach's expectations and hated him for their own acknowledged failure. Torts is a "player" 's coach.
@lawrencefine5020Ай бұрын
Still in a playoff position. This team has to deliver for themselves and the fans. If anyone were to say they saw the Flyers in playoff position by 1 point with 6 games remaining, I would of said you were crazy. But here they are. Just get into the dance, that's all we ask.
@enzy6434Ай бұрын

I love this MAN! He is amazing, nice lol and hates selfies! #AfterAWastedDecade #WeNeededHim10YearsAgo #IWouldHavePaidToSeeCaptainRegularSeasonHaveThisManBeHisCoachForYearsOfNonFull60Minutes. It was Richie and Carts part 2 with G and Jakey. Love them both. I needed more. Torts makes more happen in the regular season alone with players maximizing their capabilities and talent. Torts knows. Example: PLD and that 8 year contract LA. When PLD was in Columbus and quit 2xs on a shift. Do you really want to give that player a 8 year deal? Hells to the NO! Add Torts to the front office. I told Jonesy at the Carnival. When it's time for Torts to move on from the bench.. add him into the front office! #GiveHimTheKeysToTheCity #AsAlways #LetsGoFlyers

If you love hockey (or any professional team sport), tough not to love this guy...
@captainahab4325Ай бұрын
Torts got his start right here in the Buffalo organization. We let him go on to bigger and better things. John is a very very smart hockey man. The only downfall is he is to passionate and these "kids" today can't handle that. I'm older (60) and when I was younger I'd go through a wall for this guy. I know he's demanding but man if you're an honest player and doing your best he is going to be on your side. But if you slack off and are a lazy player he will steam roll you.
@kiroolioneaver8532Ай бұрын
His approach does have a best before date (and his style is probably better suited to a team like the Leafs who are there they just need that additional push as opposed to a younger team) but he's not like Mike Babcock playing mind games, going on power trips, and saying one thing and doing another.

The Las Vegas Golden Knights have been struggling as of late. Injuries more than any other team, getting beat up bad because every other team wants to beat them because they are the Stanley Cup defending Champs. They have regrouped knowing that they are better. They came out last night and beat one of the top teams , Vancouver. They played three periods of Playoff Hockey. They know that if you want to be in the playoffs at this time of the year, you HAVE to play 60 minutes of playoff hockey. That is their secret. Philly has to play playoff hockey now!
