Great video! The audio and lighting makes a huge difference! The camera is the icing in the cake. Great job. 👍

I feel like the preamp processor made such a huge positive difference. Sound quality seems very important and I would argue that for most work situations, that’s more important than enhancing your video.

If you are in a public-facing or broadcast role like you are, then it is totally worth it. Just average day-to-day meetings not public facing, then probably not.

Man. I use a pretty expensive Blue Yeti microphone for my teleconference Zoom calls and most of my colleagues love it BUT your setup is so great in quality, I´m gonna consider getting that legendary mic! Thank you so much for sharing this with us

I have to admit that the title of this video caught my attention (and I needed a good laugh as well). Truly a good investment with all things considered but hard to believe that your wife actually didn’t know anything about you tapping into the kids’ future college funds :) Would love to get a recording of her saying how much she enjoys your good humor entertaining your audience. Enjoying the videos.

Cool setup! It would be interesting to see how you positioned everything. You also might want a pop filter for your mic. It definitely sounds a lot better with the preamp, but it increases the sensitivity quite drastically as well.

So is the dbx preamp the audio part that finally connects to the computer? Or another audio interface? Is it "seen" by zoom? I mean in the list of audio inputs that zoom shows.
@dvdkliu
@dvdkliu 2 жыл бұрын
The dbx is before the motu interface, so the latter connects to the computer

I appreciate the foam, lighting, microphone, and camera setup. There is some things that you could of went lower grade, but if you are going to invest the time into it, and use it for a long time, might as well go big!

I just have the SM7B, Cloudlifter and a 2i2. And although I sound much better than if I were to use my laptop mic (or earbuds), Zoom compresses the living daylights out of my audio (even with Original Sound turned on). I use virtual cables to run my mic through OBS and then EQ my voice but at the end of the day, my colleagues say "you sound great" but that's about it. What I can definitely tell is when my colleagues are using crappy mics or they're constantly clipping with whatever they're using. At the end of the day, I just want to sound decent to my colleagues and clients so it's all good. I just think Zoom's compression affects audio drastically (and seems to be worse if there are more people in the meeting)
@dvdkliu
@dvdkliu 3 жыл бұрын
Nice setup! I was gonna go the cloudlifter route as well but has the dbx already. Didn't think of the OBS, interesting. Don't forget to also have your mic in view on your video so people can see your fanciness 😂

Hey David, New subscriber here. I am trying to match a switch from enterprise java to salesforce dev/marketing cloud role and am looking for some help with PD1 certification preparation content. I have been learning on trailhead content . Someone in the community whom you helped told me you would help people by sharing your udemy content with trial account . I am unable to reach you on LinkedIn for some reason I can’t connect. Would you please advise me . Thanks again. By the way the ranger girl in the background is cool. From where can I get one 😀

Dear @David K. Liu 's wife, It was totally worth it. While on the surface I can understand your trepidation about David's newly found embezzlement habit of your children's college fund, keep in mind that is a short term loss for his long-term goal of him becoming a KZfaq Salesforce superstar which would more than make up for this small investment. Don't you believe in your husband's charm and charisma? You don't? You just want the money back? Oh, umm ... well ... err ... run David, RUN!!!!!!!
