Toyotas are tough vehicles and this one is no exception!
Runs like a sewing machine but had a few oil leaks
it may have a few more but I think we got most of them fixed!

Great job, but on the engine block side of the valve cover there are half moons that you have to reseal with gasket rtv .

Excellent video.. my 2001 tundra limited edition TRD going in shop for this .. last couple local drive seen the valve cover original gasket leaking on driver side no much bit get reckoning get on it asp ..ty for sharing

You forgot the removable half moon inserts in the back of housing these need to be pulled and regasketed

Doing the oil filter adapter gasket the 8 ring. I have 3 bolts one nut off its not budging is there something a bolt behind the ac compressor

That cast piece on the top bolt has to be removed also. Thanks for the comment👍

Did you have to clamp the coolant lines to get to the oil filter housing?

Yes and it was a little tricky 😳 I think some antifreeze went up my nose😂

With that piece of rubber Hosing that broke did you just get up regular Piece of hose from auto parts store same diameter?

All the vac hoses on pass side did you have to order or you just buy some hose and cut to fit?

How do u proper torque the valve cover gasket? My leak a little after replacing the gasket.

9 on each valve cover 18 total👍

Good question I was looking forward some answer.. mechanic wouldn't give me an estimate.. buy my truck just started leaking valve covers gasket drivers side.. I asked ( recommended good local mechanic shop) he said can't until we see understand I guess.. hopefully it's not mucho

Great Video! I am about to do this exact project. Would you happen to know the part number for the oil cooler oring? I cannot seem to find it anywhere. I found the one that looks like an 8 but not the other one.

I couldn’t find one either. I had an oil filter at the shop that I robbed the rubber o ring off and it worked great. If you looked through some oil filters at the store and found one that was close it could be an option.

You have to get it from toyota, that's where I got mine. Couldn't find it anywhere couldn't even get it through my work oreilly without going through the dealer.

@@hamzaazim6669 yea bro I got you it's 219-65-B2 for the oem at Toyota and a fel pro cross over I've found is 72493. The fel pro isn't the exact same with it being a crossover but nonetheless it will work as well. Good luck man!

sorry I can't remember, I do know I used one of my CV axle sockets and the biggest one of those is 36mm

I got the three bolts off on the filter housing. Darn thing will not come off. Yea I hit it...lol. did you gave to remove the ac compressor to get it off?

No it is tight wiggling it out and it has that big bolt in the middle

I'm doing this now soaked with coolant all the bolts and nut off it won't move is there a bolt under the compressor

@@booostedtc yes! remove the compressor. One compressor bolt is stuck bc of ac lines...just removed the other 3 and back that one off so you dont have to break the coolant lines.Please remember to watch that one when reassembly. I made that mistake. Good luck let me know if you have any questions. I might be able to walk you through it

So I'm guessing pull belt off ac remove the 3 easy bolts on ac compressor then the one that's against the line back that off last will it support itself out of the way to get to the last bolt to the oil adapter I'm guessing. ?? and thank you so much for your time and response. Is that the best way to unbolt the ac compressor without unhooking it

@@Kabs9780 so the one ac bolt that's against the line it needs to be the last one worked off but frist one to tighten when putting back together. Man this job stinks and crappy design why are they running coolant though the oil filter housing. Awful design I just took a bath in red toyota coolant lol

it's just a small pick I got from harbor freight 👍 very handy I think they come in a pack of about 4 with different angles and such. Thanks for the comment!
