Your video just popped up because I've been looking for a pedal to help my Blackstar HT 60 and I have to say this was an excellent demo because it's right up my alley. I am a simple 3 chord pop and skate punk rhythm guitarist who plays a lot of palm mutes,chugs, and raking with no leads what so ever . Your rig through all those pedals sounds sweet !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

@@BigHairyGuitars If you remember, version 1 could be found for as low as 800 used? You can't really ask for more than that. Almost makes the other amps seem overrated. Version 2 skyrocketed in price. If it is one amp I am jealous of not finding easily if at all in europe it's this one.

@@81giorikas The pricing was some catastrophic mess up with a European distributor. (or something like that). Destroyed the pricing market. It's hard to market a 1 channel amp these days, but quality-wise, it's up there with a SLO-100

I have the Grind and the Precision Drive pedals, and have spent countless hours tweaking, adjusting, and swapping. I have the back of a 70 year old man now. ONE day, I will find where these pedals are supposed to sit. On another topic, have you tried some of the Neural Plugins? Specifically the Omega Granophyre and Plini? Been amazed with how close they got, and how good the tone is. Been wondering your take on these sims. Great vid as always!

I’ve come to the conclusion that you’re better off getting a nice tight sounding guitar and it sounds much more pleasing than using the od pedal to chop off the low end. Some guitars just have those nasty boomy sustained low resonances you can’t really cure with eq

Boosting an amp does sound cool with the right combos, esp for leads, but I do think it tends to mask the individual personality of the amp. At some point, boosted amps all start to sound the same to me. But when you get a great guitar --> amp combo with no boost, you can hear the tone of the amp better. That said, I like both sounds!
@kimseniorb
@kimseniorb 4 жыл бұрын
Marmalade Cream sure. I just think people really overlook the obvious ingredients to the good sound these days. Hands and the guitar itself being the most important things to begin with
@1thess523
@1thess523 4 жыл бұрын
@@kimseniorb a guy said something that rings true for me and it was "tone is in the guitar and clarity is in the hands", for me that's one hundred percent true because I can play something and it's kinda messy yet my son who is a way better guitarist than me can play the same thing and it sounds so much better even through the same rig with the same guitar and it's because he has the touch. I am probably better at drums first,bass second, and then guitar and my son is the opposite. The tone of the guitar and amp stay the same but the clarity of the music is what changes when my son plays,

@@DanielGonzalez-mb9hg I have a 33 specifically to sound like that tight Grundy meshuggah tone for when I’m jamming along to the tracks with my 2228. For my own thing I prefer the 808x or my precision drive. The 33 does one thing and does it well but it comes at the cost of $233.33 to do that 1 thing although an mxr 10 band eq can achieve the same. If you didn’t notice I’m a meshuggah fanboy and I couldn’t control the urge to get one.... at least I can admit it, it’s the first step.
