Here's an overview of the 4 setups I like to scan for when day trading. Keep in mind these setups alone is not a strategy, but are patterns I trade within my strategy. If you have any questions ask them in the comments below!
The Four Setups:
1. Buy Setup
2. Breakout
3. Climatic Buy Setup
4. The 123

Thanks for the explanation! I really like how you emphasize understanding the context of a chart before randomly trading a setup. I think that is one of the most important things for newer traders to understand. Unfortunately, many beginners aren't really taught this.

Alright I'll post. The life summary video made me get real emotional lol, that journey is so relatable for me. But I have to post because this explanation is phenomenal, even as a not completely new trader this explanation put me on a knowledge rocket ship like the video has in it ;D

Great, great content. I learn the fundamentals of the technical set up on this video. I wish I had a mentor like you did when you started trading. I have one question if you have time. Are you scanning the gappers on different timeframes (2min,5min,15min) to see a technical set up you like, then trade on that particular time frame chart if it fits your eye? So basically you trade using different timeframes for technical set ups? Thanks again, James and if you ever consider having a discord with discussion and guidance of trades, please let me know.

Hell yeah, dude! This is the type of content I am looking for. Finally found a trading channel gem on KZfaq. I especially appreciated the right/wrong examples. One question though, do you trade “traps” (I believe is the termin)? And if you do, I think a lot of your subscribes would appreciate a breakdown of trapping strategy. Thank you, keep it up!

Great video! I find it straightforward to execute off of these setups with a conservative predetermined risk level. The hard part is stalking and finding the tickers in time. Would really like to know how you actually scan for these setups in TOS. Does TOS have some sort of chart pattern scanner? Thanks James!

Great video as always boss. If you get a sec, what is the target on the breakout? Also when you pass your target, how do you determine the new target? I'm assuming your stop loss move up to the keep the profits you just made?

Hi James, awesome video. A question -- do premarket candles count in these setups? Let's say on 15m we have 7 green candles. When the opening bell rings, we get 4 red candles and the price drops to 20SMA. Is that a potential buy setup? Or it's not because we only consider main session candles? Thank you in advance

The real world examples show different time frame right? So you go over each time frame scanning for the patterns. Would you trade a pattern appearing in an 1h chart or do you prefer to see the pattern in lower time frames?

Hello James how do we scan for these stocks though... stocks that have made 20% in past few days and consolidating?Also should we buy stocks if they are in consolidation for longer time like 7-8 days?It won't make sense right?

What time frame do you primarily use for the buy set up and the 123 move?
@jamesrichyoung

I primarily focus on the 1, 2, 5, 15m and it depends on the time of day. I'm usually going up timeframes as the day goes on.
