train smarter, not harder, quality over quantity. applies to just about every sport. overtraining leads to injuries and burnout.

Thanks, I have this problem of watching technique of sprinters I. E. Low heel recovery, first 3 steps and trying to get my start similar and watch my starts and fix accordingly. Not really working, last attempt is trying to get my first 3 steps low heel and to hit down and back as my feet hits far back in the start

One advice you are giving regarding starts, is to put tape on the ground to show the athlete where to hit the ground for the 3-4 first steps of acceleration. Since athletes have different height and strength, how do I know at which distance to put these bits of tape? Is there a rule of thumb for this? Thanks for great content :)

Yes it's very individual so unfortunately the best way to find the measurements is to experiment and see which stride lengths are natural for the athlete without over striding.

No, pain is a signal that your body is giving you. Typically this is because something is wrong.

My problem is that I think I use all my power/energy coming out the blocks and about halfway through the race I start to slow down or decelerate

Sounds like you're power dominant and need to focus on developing speed endurance.

Stop heel striking. It’s a very easy fix short term. Long term your calves and most of your lower leg is going to need to be strengthened. You can do this by just sprinting more without heel striking or targeted exercises
