Strong winds and heavy rain were in store for my first 24 hours in the western fells, and it is safe to say I was more than a little soggy. Join me for Part 2 of this wild camping adventure in the wet, wild and wonderful Lake District.
The rain continues onto day 2, as I attempt to make my way to scale force waterfall from Floutern tarn, through flooded streams gushing from all the rain rolling down from the mountain tops. I figured scale force would have been of epic proportions so naturally I really wanted to visit in all the pouring rain.
The Forclaz Trek 900 did excellently in the wind. It is such a great budget backpacking tent - I would definitely recommend.

I would've thought sponsor's would have gifted you excellent tackle by now, anyway you keep it real as it is so that's great.

The first half of the video I thought you had lost the plot lol. But it all made sense when the weather cleared up and where you ended up. You always have a way of finding the the most amazing locations and views. Great to see you still making videos. Keep it up, so relaxing to watch!!!

( After minute 14 : 00 ). You caught the silence I always chased when I backpacked around the hills of Britain. That said, I am a confirmed Roadtrekker these days - I follow B-roads. Next year I'll follow the B-roads hugging the Korean coastline. Thing is this, I've transformed into the Sultan of backpacking. Following roads and pavement allows me to do my ' Scott of the Antarctic ' impersonation. I pull a big, fat trolley behind me. Part one of your video vlog reminded me why I travel the way I do now. I did the Pennine Way when I was 15 years old. It took me 17 days ( technically 18 days - I was forced to pitch just outside Kirk Yetholm due to my arriving late ). For the whole of those 17 days I was damp; sometimes soaked-through. My sleeping bag was as dry as the world's most enthusiastic wet wipe. My clothes and tent were, basically , a differing degree of wet. It was a miserable experience; full stop. Sleeping in a wet sleeping bag on the damp, cold ground in a damp. wet tent in damp/ wet clothes.....no thanks! I have a hot tent with a wood stove. A cot with built-in inflatable mattress.A pop-up tent for my toilet and shower. I have RAB and MontBell clothing and sleeping bags. A decent folding table and chair; a solar panel as well as Jackory.....see what I mean? I watch you because you are the real deal. A genuine hillwalker. You are the only one who uses a map! It is what sent me off on my waffling. I watch many walkers; campers; etc. Yet you are the only one using a map. I can relate to that. So thanks for two interesting and very contrasting days/ vlogs. And thanks for the memories...........can you hear Frank Sinatra?!!!

8:34 Great shot! It is a good idea to change into wellies and you should try the shallow grassy creek again. The bog can be unpredictable, unfortunately. Cattail ponds are safe, though. I also have the Froclaz tent like yours, I bought it last year. It survived heavy storms and did not get we at all. I might try similar trekkings, too, firstly only a day length trip.

I feel invested in this multi-night camp now, lol. Looks like such an adventure, and it's a real pleasure following you on it. And I have to say, I love the way you approach things. You take things in your stride, always with a sense of humour, and make things look easy, even when the conditions are tough. Gives me some confidence to do the same. Thanks!

What a beautiful spot, you definitely made the right decision. The views were glorious and the sky at night, I’d kill for that view. The rain is a pain.
