Logan from Defined Autoworks brought his insane 4 Rotor Mazda RX7 all the way from Ohio to come visit us, needless to say we had an absolute blast. The RX7 makes over 600WHP naturally aspirated and is capable of revving to 11,000 RPM... due to class rules during competition he limits the power to 420WHP and 10,000RPM. We put the car on the dyno at HP Logic, went for a street cruise, and even took it through a fast food drive-thru for a mid shoot break! This is one of the coolest cars we've ever had the pleasure of filming, huge shoutout to Logan for building such an awesome machine. Fun fact, Gran Turismo Sport recorded audio from his RX7 to use in the game for the Mazda 787B, now that's a flex!

Cars like Rob Dahms RX7 with its 1200+hp are awesome but there really is something to be said for creating a highly reliable and comparatively cheap to run car like this, 8 years on the motor build and only really needs maintenance like an everyday car...and still with more horsepower and fun factor than most people could ever handle.

Even Mazda's improvement on the R26B was not that much progress, compared to the stock engine. But you do it justice! You said very sweet words implying reliability and durability, like ceramic apex (yeah, I think we're re-discovering ceramic, after Sumerians invented it over 6 thousand years ago). There is so much more that can be squeezed out of this beautiful engine, including consumption, durability, longevity and power, for sure. Yes Sir, lets give it some smart engineering. Forget 1500hp, this is one of the most baller builds of an FD! My man has the magnesium racing wheels from the JGTC touring cars! Hes cruising on a $25k-$40,000 set of wheels. Just to put into perspective the height of this build!

Having owned a dyno shop where we tuned and made custom parts for an 11,000 rpm p-port rx-7 endurance racer, I can assure you that this is the loudest thing that can possibly be on the dyno. I had people who could hear the dyno from a 2 rotor 300+ RWHP p-port rx-7 from over 2 miles away, yes, it was that loud - 4 rotors is probably just 2x as loud.

Many are reliable.. premix with 2-stroke oil, ceramic apex seals, regular maintenance and revving it to prevent carbon build up the whole 9 yards. No worse than any other high performance engine.

I became a lover of the 4-rotor via Rob Dahm, followed his build through the last year or so. They are sick, Unmatched sound. Reminds me of an F1 car. High reving, tons of power, super cool w/ the quick shifts. i'd love to own one someday. Until then, This will have to do! 😁

The fact that it’s purpose built and engineered for grip racing is a statement to how when these engines are built properly they can run forever. 8 years of 10k revs and throttle blips and it still gets pounded on. Amazing

This thing is absolutely INCREDIBLE. Definitely the coolest and craziest experience-7 build I’ve ever seen...I could only imagine what it sounds like in person. Guy seems super cool and down to earth too! Always good to see Jack as well!

Went to a track day and this car was there, for most the cars in the class the noise would fade as they headed towards the back side of the track. But this RX7 was absolutely screaming all the way around the track. There was not one spot where you didn't hear the rotary doing its chores! Kid you not I heard it fire up and idle without seeing it, I though somebody was doing a burnout or something in staging.😂
