If you have this issue (of disk not seen in windows) 1. go to bios in start up and see if you can see the drive there, if yes then go to step 2, if cannot see then the drive has failed that even cannot be detected in BIOS 2. go to DISK MANAGEMENT, see if you can see the drive, if its there make it online, also give the drive a drive name so that the drive cannot be seen, IF still cannot, then go to Device manager, and go to IDE ATA/Atapi controller delete/uninstall all the controllers then restart your computer. Your computer will then instal the drivers again and you can see the drive in windows. If you still cannot then its a problem I do not know. I can see my drive in windows, but cannot access data due to CRC error, even format wont work..

nobody seems to know how to fix the initialize CRC error on virtual disk. everything in this video is pointless if the windows explorer can't recognize the disk if it doesn't have a letter.

If the drive is not visible in bios, first check if the power and data cable are ok, use another drive to ensure that that cables work, If its not detected in BIOS then the drive has failed, you need to get it repaired at hardware store. 1. go to bios in start up and see if you can see the drive there, if yes then go to step 2, if cannot see then the drive has failed that even cannot be detected in BIOS 2. go to DISK MANAGEMENT, see if you can see the drive, if its there make it online, also give the drive a drive name so that the drive cannot be seen, IF still cannot, then go to Device manager, and go to IDE ATA/Atapi controller delete/uninstall all the controllers then restart your computer.
