What makes people happy? What does love mean to different generations? Four-year-olds and older people interview each other about happiness and loneliness, and the answers are both innocent and heartwarming.
A unique social experiment that brings together elderly people in a retirement community with a group of 4-year-olds. Could this encounter between young and old help transform the lives of the elderly?

I felt bad for the red haired lady. The little boy with her, he really felt as much as he could for her. His little mind ming was thinking, "How can I help?".

😭😭😭😩😩😩 that breaks my heart to see that much people feeling alone, that's not a way to end your life, we should really care about old people they are the memory of their time and they have so many things to teach us.

How quickly time passes! Wonder if these people, remember being 4 years old, back in the 1930s, time can pass by, so quickly, in a blink of eternity!

So sad having lonley elders, somtimes it makes them pass away faster, they should be with a large community where they dont feel isolated which is one of the factors to longevity.

I truly enjoyed watching the first episode. I felt sad for the elderly people who miss their family and loved ones. The interaction with the children brought so much joy and feeling of having someone in their lives. As the elderly reach this point of their lives, what families should give is their time to them. Because no one knows when their time will be up. Now is the time to give their the best quality time for tomorrow may be too late for them. I cried as I listened to some of the elderly mentioned how lonely they feel. Congratulations to the people behind this project, at least they made some difference in the lives of the elderly people.

As much as I have enjoyed this series observing the interaction between the elderly and the kids, I feel very sad for those of us in the west, we rely far too much on the state and institutions to take away the burden of the elderly. I have spent many years in SE Asia and I must say they have a much better grasp of what it means to be 'family'. It's not unusual to see three or four generations living in the same household. In my experience the Asians take responsibility much more seriously than we do in the west. If a child isn't educated or skilled sufficiently to make it through adulthood independently, then it's not the state that picks up the slack, the family takes care of its shortcomings. Have you wondered why Asian families succeed in academia so much they are penalised when trying to enter universities in some countries, its their understanding the state is not responsible for the wellbeing of the individual. My Asian wife is so traditional in this sense that she detests the taxes we pay to the state so others can benefit from their ineptitude is raising children. I say stop expecting the state (ie others) to care for the elderly, take care of your own, YOUR younger generation will appreciate the love and care you provide to ALL your family. That's all from me, I love you all regardless an I'm happy to be your neighbor...

I'm a 30 year old who's never had any Grandparents but I do have some senior friends that I try to keep in touch with. I hope that, in the same way 'teenagers' once didn't exist you were just a kid or an adult, that in the future old people have more invented age ranges to go through rather than it just being old age. I want to see it be more like- baby, toddler, tween, teen, young adult, adult, mid-lifer, older adult, golden years, wobblers (toddling for failing legs instead of growing ones), seniors, Elders, Demi Gods ;D It would feel so much more inclusive than just feeling like your sliding towards the grave with no more celebratory markers to attain. Raves aimed at Elders would be just my thing even at 30 - music not too loud, lot's of soft, blanketed furniture, special chair-beds to go sit in when you're too tired/drunk to dance any more, denture friendly snacks.,, I hereby refuse to sit in a care home or alone and fade away.

All those lovely people would not have to be alone if they make an advert on gumtree offering childcare / even if its 1x a week for a single mum. Or 2 older persons get together and offer 2x a week a play afternoon, reading stories to kids or lego sessions for example. Or do an advert just looking for another single person in your age to meet every Wednesday for tea or visit your local church group or start a youtube channel and and and so many possibilities.
