Some high up inquisitor finally forces Helbrecht's compliance in having their entire chapter assemble all in one place for wargear inspection etc. "yup everything seems to check out" as the inquisitor goes through all of them, counting thoroughly. Suddenly the inquisitor gets a Vox request from a nearby servitor. "Just sit tight right here, and don't go anywhere." The communication reads that a neighboring planet is under heavy assault and is being defended by an entire chapter of black templars. The inquisitor smiles deeply and runs back to the assembly yard, finally certain THIS TIME. THIS TIME I'VE GOT THEM. He arrives to an empty assembly area, all of Helbrecht's chapter hiding behind cardboard boxes, in alleyways etc. "Shit." the inquisitor spits on the ground. "Those templars sure know how to deploy rapidly. Emperor bless them. How could I have ever doubted their loyalty. Well, off to see what those heretical Blood Ravens have been up to." Helbrecht snickers from under his cardboard box. He was fine with deception, so long as he didn't have to kill anyone this way. That was for cowards.. and heretics.

One of the most underrated chapters. Hope to make a Black Templar army for 8th edition.

It's actually stated in the current Codex of the Space Marines that they cannot have psykers not because they don't like the loyal psykers of the Imperium, but because of a mutation of their Geneseed that cannot produce psykers (and I guess it's not compatible with such powers).

I always wondered why there’s such a huge fan base for the Templars. Is it because they are the most zealous of the chapters, their brutality, the fact that they are basically crusaders turned to eleven? Or is it because they are a spin off of the imperial fists and their leader is the champion of the emperor? Or is it just they wear all black?

Here is a passage from the space marine codex pg 52. "Outsiders mistakenly interpret the lack of Librarians within the ranks of the Black Templars Chapter, and the fury with which it's battle-brothers slay Chaos Sorcerers, as an intolerance of all pasykersl. This could hardly be further from the truth." I'll skip past the part where it talks about how they honor Astronomicans and Astropaths. It continues with; "Instead the Black Templars' abhorrence is reserv3ed for deviant alien witches and rogue psykers who embrace the blasphemous Dark Gods in their quest for power." So it seems to be that their hatred for allied pyskers was removed from the lore. However other wikis and the RPG books like Deathwatch, it still goes by the original lore of the Black Templar Codex.
