Knights of St John Hospitallier, protecting (and healing) pilgrims fallen by the wayside on the long road to Jerusalem, in their castles. The road was so long. They made many castles, and became armed knights to defend pilgrims before they were attacked, and we now name our "hospitals" after them. Because they invented them

The Champion wins unfortunately about 30% against Abbadon and 40% Kharn, bloody dice those percentages should be lower.

+Tyson Gardner well they are the mighty Black Templars but try playing more daemons I tend to get more draws/defeats against them with my Black Templars

The black Cross on white ground isn't the symbol of the first crusade but of the ancient "german order" originated in Germany (they took part in the crusades). The black cross on white ground remains the symbol of German Military forces until today.

Actually, it's taken from the Knights Hospitallier as source. The Teutonic Knights (Germanic peoples) that you're relating this to came later and their symbol was more Gothic looking (such as the one the Astartes here wear). But it's all from the Christian military orders of the Crusades 👍🏻.

can erdamar teutonic order used straight black cross on white background. Knight hospitallers used same colour scheme and cross type

It is the Maltese cross, as stated, which originated from the Knights Hospitaller and is now used by the Sovereign Military Order of Malta.

Most of the Black Templars could be described as unhinged. Likely to do with their gene-seed containing the younger less disciplined legionaries and the ones to zealot for Rogal himself to be bothered dealing with, given the friction between him and Sigismund.
