@Grimnar exactly a normal guy that no special then any of us shove a lasgun in his hand and give him the most basic of training and then put him in the most troubled and thick of action combat area and many of them held the line and defended against unspeakable horrors to me those men are far more heroic then a marine that breed and engineer to know to fear and have god like ability and is basically a walking talking ifv tank drooping just to take all the credits from the millions of guards that paid with there blood in the lore most marine assault on the planet have the support of the imperial guards and imperial navy there the one doing the heavy lifting fight while the space marine pick and choose the more important one

Banewolf fixes everything. Add some Leman Russ and your precious Space Marines are done for. Or if push comes to shove simply drop some artillery shells on them. Honestly, I don't get the love the Space Marines receive. They are oversized, overpriced toys and by far not enough to counter any good force multiplier (artillery, air force, tanks). And while Space Marines have tanks as well they are (to my knowledge) not much different than standard imperial tanks so there's no difference in strength in this point.

@@chrismath149 i mean its not like space marines have enough armor to withstand the lighter weapons of a tank, nor do they have the ability to outpace a tank while in said armor. True they are not better in the vehicle department but you don't need them when every marine is a tank by themselves.

In don't know how far the Dawn of War Games are considered canon but two Leman Russ tanks can easily destroy several squads of Space Marines (at least in Dawn of War 1). I never read any of the books (although they are on my reading list for years now (along with fifty other books)). And you can't tell me that the superhuman Space Marine can still run as fast as a tank while wearing half a ton of armour and weaponry. And that does still not counter the threat of artillery. A single spotter or Skull Drone could call in enough fire power to wipe out the entire company. Since Space Marines are really, really, really rare they are only as good as the units that cover their flanks. I think I remember between one and three million. For reference: That's fewer soldiers than the armies taking part in Operation Barbarossa had at their disposal. And from those three million not all are full fledged space marines. I think the fate of a space marine in a fight is similar to the one of a Tiger Tank in world war two: End up being bombared by air or end being overrun. And their "camouflage" is,well, let's say improvable. You can see a Blood raven from kilometres away. We all saw how that went for the French in world war 1 (Edit: At the opening days of world war 1 the French soldiers wore blue jackets and red trousers because it was French. German machine gunners and artillery spotters saw them from kilometres away, slowly marching towards their lines. You can imagine what happened to the poor sods.) And force multipliers alone don't make up the difference. Guardsmen in cover with bolters on tripods, Plasma guns or rocket launchers can still dish out as much damage. Then there's the problem that the Empire has spread out the Space Marines in response to the Horus Heresy to prevent any Chapter from gaining too much power ever again. These purposefull limitations tremendously hurt the doubtworthy effect of the Space Marines even more. But maybe I am just too influenced by my study of military doctrine to make sense of Space Marines. Anyway, I always loved the Imperial Guard even though they are quite ineffective without armour or artillery support because they resemble something "less" outlandish.

The imperial guard hold the line. They have held the line against horrors far worse then traitorous space marines, and they shall continue to hold the line once done dealing with said marines

Her powers included, but not limited to: To absorb a person on touch and gain their memories and appearance (just like in prototype), rapid mutations like prototype, strong psyker powers and a powerful resistance to warp energys, the power to be able to rip apart Terminator armor, laying eggs the can make more assasins like her, strong regen powers and able to function even after the most of the body have been destroyed, there are more, but its enough with just that. She was a hybrid of many xeno and human parts including Tyranid strains and some warp power. She was so powerful that when she went rouge the, Officio Assassinorum sent 3 Grand masters, out of 6 in the entire Imperium,and an Eversor from the Eversor Temple, the Imperial Fists that also had to join the battle sent: The Captain of the 1st Company Lysander, Space Marine Scouts, a squad of Assault Marines, 1st Company Veterans, the Chapter's Emperor's Champion,, Space Marine Librarians and Terminators.
