As a fellow content creator (freelance writer for a non-WH-based TTRPG), I'm super excited to hear that you're taking a dive into creating an original setting! Worldbuilding can definitely feel overwhelming at times. What I've found helps me narrow things down is to figure out the story you want to tell, then do the bare minimum worldbuilding needed to make that story coherent. Things will naturally develop over time as you get deeper into your own universe.

Loyalty is it's own reward. Your fan base is the most solid there is. Love your work bro.

Just on the narrative side, you're very much a "pre-bed" kinda channel for me, and I enjoy your telling of lore in that way as something that relaxes me as I'm winding down. Can't say for certain I'll love it without the context that 40K gives me when you drop lore, but I'm completely open to it because of your qualities as a narrator/story-teller. And more importantly, it sounds important to you, and I think it's well worth giving a try because of that whether I (or others) like it or not. Wishing you the best.

You basically make all my long road trips (10h+) so much easy, and each time present new perspectives to the lore! 🤩. Luetin, I know you say that you are 5% tabletop, and think your channel is type-cast as a lore channel, but if you genuinely enjoy the table top, I think it could benefit your channel a lot by recording or streaming matches. As someone who started getting into 40k through your lore videos, and is now starting the tabletop side of the hobby, I would love to see you host matches with other creators or friends! I am sure you could come up with some insane terrain set ups and get some great photos to use in your lore videos as background imagery. Also, I could not picture a more entertaining video that would beat out you playing a round of 40k while explaining some of the lore as the match progressed. As a new player, that would be a dream come true! P.S. Cant wait to hear more about your side project! Have you considered starting a Substack? Pretty easy way to get a story out there! Its like Patreon but for writing.

I was trapped in house with my large family who i dont always necessarily get along with and your channel was my first introduction to 40k. Your “intro to 40k” had me interested, your “space marines“ got me hooked, and by the time id hit your “emperor of mankind” series i was a full blown addict (lore wise anyways). Well here i am 3 years later with a sizable addiction to model conversion/kitbashing and a decent following of my own in that lane, and yet every time i see a new one of your posts im the same kid with nowhere else to go but the depth’s of the 41st millennium, so skillfully scored to your voice. For all of that and more, you deserve whatever, for however long, and whatever kind of break you think you need, because i and many others know you well deserve it.

You were the reason I got into WH at all, I listened to your videos while I worked from home during the pandemic. Once lockdown lifted I bought my first box of Sisters and now I've got 2k points of them all painted 😅

I hear ya on just trying something instead of never knowing what could have been. Finished my first mini recently after years of sticking exclusively to lore and games. It's no masterpiece, but I am extremely proud of it simply because I proved to myself I could do it and not completely fuck it up. Now I've got most of the tools I need along with the motivation to actually make an army. And it all started with this channel, with your engaging and thought provoking approach to the lore. Honestly, Leutin, I think you would do very well building your own universe. For me, you've added weight and scope to 40k than it already had, and I think you could carry that forward quite well.

I paused it at the original narrative part because I wanted to offer a few opinions that I hope you see. 1: your channel size would get you leverage with any publisher. If you really were serious about putting together a novel - I am certain you could pretty much walk into any sci fi publisher and get a deal done. 2. Self publishing might be even better for your first book. There are some great print on demand services that do not require you to keep a stock of books - you just put the order form up and they print every order individually and ship them out for you. ALSO: I would and I’m sure many others would pre-order a signed copy of whatever you decided to put out. THEN when you got that proof of concept you could get any kind of deal you wanted with publishers I am sure of it! Don’t kid yourself Luetin - you’ve built a very supportive community here and whichever route you decided to go I believe would turn great results!

As a fellow worldbuilder and narrative writer- you are absolutely right they can spin out of control and rapidly- but I'm excited to see what you build. The best advice I could give as someone who builds these narrative universes regularly as a hobby for fun is to don't be afraid to re-write certain events or concepts especially early on- creating a suite of ideas, worlds, civs, that all gel together more cohesively will always be better than just going with whatever was first or just most recent. Sometimes those little changes you make to one thing to make it work a little better open up expansive new opportunities down the line. Other than that sounds like you're doing it in a way that's enjoyable to you so keep it up!

There has been zero change in my engagement or enjoyment in these videos. Idk if your process is changed, or if you like you said are dropping the short stories more frequently. I love the way you implement Music your own narrative, ideas and thoughts with actuall links of books and lines from the 40k Verse. So I can imagine a World build narrated and spoked by you in some kid of Audio book Version very well. Imagine a luetin channel with 2-4h long Audio books with movies and pictures made from Fans or profesionals out of his own thought out universe. Im hyped and hooked about the stuff you will be able to do and im always interested in participating in brainstorming for whats to come.

I started listening to audiobooks while doing chores. my goodness, so good^^ If you read this in 'Alpharius Head of the Hydra', during the first 3rd Alpharius thinks to himself how to intrude the palace and he says he can't go pass the Custodes, because they 'do not blink'. Is that figure of speech trying to say they dont miss anything or do they literally not blink? because that would make them,.for me at least, not superhuman but inhuman. Anyways audiobooks are awsm, diggin thru horus heresy atm^^ the short about sister amedala blew my mind.

You are one of if not the only KZfaqrs who I will always click on your video regardless of the title and always listen to the end. I think the best way to progress introduce your new universe is to serialise it into short weekly / monthly installments. That's how many Sci Fi stories were published originally from HG Wells to Isaac Asimov and Arthur C Clarke.

On the subject of many ways to enjoy 40k. I got into it April of last year with my girlfriend. After 3 years together she left me. Painting and playing became hard for me, because it was "our" thing. And yet I've still deeply enjoyed looking at models, looking at lore, learning things, just generally enjoying 40k as a subject. Only yesterday have I sat down to finally paint my cadia stands box. It's nice that I've been able to still enjoy warhammer in some kind of way, despite the.. I guess emotional difficulty of participating in the actual hobby.

For your own universe, I'd love something like a periodical audiobook sections or something. Old books (such as foundation) were often published chapter by chapter in the newspaper. Something like your planning of publishing a little at a time I think is a great idea.

Very much looking forward to your own narrative series, and of course continued 40k lore stuff. I got into 40k through your channel. I've now read the entire Horus heresy, Eisenhorn, Ravenor, and Bequin, and looking forward to reading many more series.

I started with the lore back when I was driving for 12 hours a day for work, and I had nothing better to do. haven't got into tabletop yet, mainly because I live on a farm and the only place that hosts games is 3 hours away. That said, I did buy a couple Salamander minis just to have. What really interests me though are the boards. I do woodworking as a hobby, and I've had an idea mulling about in my head of creating a wartable diorama. No clue what I'd use it for. As said, nobody for hours around to play with. But I find the boards themselves neat.

Love to spend hours listening to you talk while I'm painting models or just chilling out.

The Luetin Necropolis was well thought out and written. I am all for more fanfic content you create. You might have already thought of it, but maybe collaborate with other creators, making minis, painting them, character drawings, map design of cities, whatever your world-building needs to bring your story to life. With the visual medium of KZfaq, there is more you can bring forth, with some help, than an author can with words on a page. Some enjoy visualizing what they read, but sometimes it can be entertaining to see what the author envisioned too. Who knows, after a few chapters, publishers may be seeking you to print your work.

I love your lore vids because of how thorough they are and well put together. Your voice is part of that, so make sure to take care of it and rest when you need to. it's worth the wait to have you at your best when you can truly shine

Don’t be nervous about releasing your own stuff. probably won’t be as well received as the warhammer lore vids (obviously it’s a giant IP), but me and probably a lot of other people are here primarily for your voice and concise thoughts providing supreme escapism and sleeping aid. Im superhyped for the vigilus continuation and hope vigilus will lead into more vids following the narrative, because it’s kinda hard to follow as a normie as you often pointed out yourself. I wana hear about gathering storm, about psychic awakening, about arcs of omen, about all the gajillion novels that drive narrative and about whatever 10th brings lorewise. If i may give two ideas: 1. With the (great!) Idea of writing your own stories i think you should still use some of the help writers traditionally make use of. The few authors i know or met have all emphasized how important an editor is. So might be worth looking into. 2. Your voice being strained. Since it is one of your main tools in your trade, maybe you should look into getting a, i don't really know exactly what tbh, a vocal coach, doctor, breathing expert or who professional singers go and talk to to get help, preventive help with their voice being wounded? It might sound silly at first glance but it is a part of your ability to make your income. Maybe create a extra tier on patron (ie as 1$ extra in each existing) to make it affordable for you?

I have my own thoughts and ideas on what a story should involve but I don't have yours or anyone else's experience with warhammer, what I do have is experience elsewhere, so my concept would based on real life, would that be worth buying in to? I have no idea but I will give it a bash, you never know, so just do it and enjoy what you are doing!

I gave up playing the tabletop ages ago, but I got into 40k proper in '98. I fell in love with the lore of it all before that, as I started with Warhammer Fantasy in '89 (still have my two "Realms of Chaos" books even!), and keeping up with the lore has been a pleasure, especially thanks to channels like yours. I'd be interested in your own original stuff, yeah. At least to check it out. I love world building myself, and you're totally right, it's easy to get lost in the minutiae. Mine are only ever limited to TTRPG settings, but at least that means I can noodle on them endlessly? What I'm really looking forward to is the Dredd stuff you're talking about! I love Judge Dredd, but it's always been kind of difficult to get over here in Canada. I did collect 2000AD for a while, but even in the 90s it was CDN$5 an issue (when American comics were like CDN$2 to CDN$2.25), and I have a nearly complete run of the Eagle Comics Judge Dredd (reprints of 2000AD formatted to American comic size, a lot of new Bolland covers, but you probably know that). I also have some of the old GW Dredd TTRPG stuff: a couple hardcovers and box sets like "Slaughter Margin." Okay, I got a bit excited at the mention of Judge Dredd, lol.

As a dad i totally understand the need for breaks. Compared to fathering a full time job is nothing, doing both with a young child is the hardest thing ive ever done, so i understand how it is.
