It's worth repairing a vehicle with 427K miles on it when you have a skilled mechanic like yourself who's able to quickly diagnose and repair them. Thanks for providing these videos. I hope you continue making them for a few more years.

Hi Ivan...Reference my question on part 1 yesterday: Now I see. You're leaving the connectors on the injectors so the car is providing the power side of the circuit, and only using the OTC 3398 to provide the pulsed ground side to the injectors for the balance test. Well done! That's thinking beyond the tool's instruction manual based on a sound understanding of the circuit design. I learned a new trick...thanks!

Very 😎 you did one of these! I literally just did an 06 last week! Multiple issues on this one, sat in a field for about 4 years...had an open o2 and a shorted a/f on bank one... rodents ate the air box (between filter box and ectsi) had to epoxy it to seal it! Throttle was dirty as hell, after cleaning I kept getting p0505 and went down a deep rabbit hole 😆, smoke tested everything (I'll get back to that..) scoped the ectsi at the throttle and at the pcm and did the same for the pedal...multiple different idle relearn procedures... Way back in the beginning when I smoked it I was getting a little smoke out of oil fill cap, put a new o-ring on it since it was leaking oil there anyways and tested and cleaned the pcv...a very very small amount was able to pass through the pcv to I figured it wasn't bad enough to cause my issue so I skipped that step...after scoping everything, racking my brain, about to load up the parts cannon....frustratedas hell!!! I stopped! Started from the beginning and this time paid more attention to that $10 pcv valve....installed a new one and problem was gone!! I'm still kicking myself over this one haha! I learned that day though 😆. The Throttle being so clogged kept the idle down low enough to not be effected by the bad pcv I suppose. Side note, I was concerned about the trims as well, one bank was about +12 and the other +3 so that may be an upcoming issue.

You have the nouse to combine the data from your various test & analysis tools to diagnose what's going on with the vehicle to the nth degree. Your logical approach to your problems is refreshing. Combining these traits with your great work ethics it would be difficult to find anyone better at what they do than yourself. I love how you explain everything that's going on as you proceed, & are always thinking about us viewers hearing & seeing what you do. More entertaining than any 'whodunit' movie that's for sure! It's incredible the problems you have to overcome with parts, & part numbers & even dealers not doing or even knowing what is right.

You make me miss doing driveability, even though I stopped 30 years ago to specialize just an air conditioning. You’re methodical and you like to retest and double check yourself that was something that I like to do and I like to test after my repairs something that when I worked in a shop as an employee, the owner of the shop did not like us retesting in spending extra time on driveability.. Unfortunately, automotive techs employees don’t understand the owner of the company doesn’t make as much profit usually on driveability because tough ones take too long and they don’t bill 💵 enough to the customer. But as owner operators of our own business, we can spend all the quality time we want to make sure our customers get quality, correct work instead of the shops that throw the parts cannon at the vehicle.

I'm looking at a P0171 in a Matrix, and I may end up pulling the injectors (I'm getting a set from a known good engine from another owner) for replacement. One question - why didn't you pull the manifold _before_ you started with the injectors? For that matter, even before you did the pressure tests (once you knew you'd be replacing them). It looks like you have far more room to work with the front injectors with that manifold out. (I'm glad you've managed to convince him to repair. Those engines go next to forever.)

Я почистил в УЗИ ванне старые и сравнил производительность на стенде. Lol The lean code was remedied with an on car injector flush. The drop numbers nearly doubled from 9 psi to 15 psi. Great test. I love how you use the cars 12v and only use the negative lead to pulse them via backprobe, that’s clever. @@PineHollowAutoDiagnostics it's just not as bright as I wished. I like that its lightweight but wish it was brighter. My Milwaukee is heavy but @600 lumens I use it as primary and this one as a backup

@@nestorlugo. Check out Fenix head lamps. WAY bright with different output levels. They use rechargeable 18650 lithium battery. Had mine pushing 10 years now. Replaced head strap once.

Does fuel really percolate in the rail due to normal operating heat while under a system-designed pressure or is it just a change in density that you're trying to account for? The ECM on my 1992 Lexus had a strategy of increasing the fuel rail pressure whenever the coolant temp sensor got on the toasty side to prevent bubbles.

If you have electrically good injectors, they are pretty easy to rebuild yourself with an inexpensive kit. The few sets I have done myself made a huge difference in smoothness.

On time i was working gasoline toyota with random misfire in all cylinders. Somebody has changed fuel pump, and when i took pump out, no sign any filter. Hacked pump assembly. That pump with filter and level sensor was expencive( one unit). No filter= clogged injectors. GDI injectors. Expensive injectors... And now i take always fuel sample when measuring fuel pressure.

For all the years the V6 RAV4 was produced, it was also the fastest Toyota you could buy. Pretty sad from a company that used to have the MR2, Supra, and the GT4 Celicas.
