For sure! 100m is plenty for swimming.

I first looked at this watch in a jewelry store with really bright spot lighting, I’m sure to make diamonds sparkle. The glare of the watch looked awful in the store and I was very concerned about it. In daily use, it’s nothing close to what it was in the store, and to my eyes, it doesn’t bother me. I’m sure there is better AR out there, and you are 100% right about the lackluster lume. Neither bothers me much and I’m a happy owner. I wish you the same for your watches.

It’s a great watch because it looks nice, is comfortable and light, keeps good time, and has a long power reserve. Lume is overrated. I rarely ever use it in daily life, and most field watches don’t prioritize it because it isn’t useful in mountaineering. I would prefer better AR.

@@PatrickKuehn I get your points, but what I don't understand is why a big company like Hamilton can't do better AR and lume. I understand lume may not be important to some but great lume is readily available on sub-$200 watches. Why can't a $900 watch have both?

​ @RaymondRakubian 1) Hamilton's field watches were designed for military usage and used in world wars. Bright lume created a safety liability so usage was intentionally conservative. That is also why most field watches have brushed cases instead of polished ones. They could of course update this detail for modern usage, or in customer pieces. 2) Can you think of examples of watches with printed dials and without indexes or pips which have excellent lume? I hypothesize there is a limitation on how well lume can shine when printed because the luminous material must be mixed with inks and other required additives. I can think of other dials with numerals on them with better lume like the Rolex Explorer or even the Longines Zulu Times but they are metal numbers filled with lume and not printed dials. I'm not attempting to make excuses for Hamilton. Their lack of AR under the crystals is annoying to me also, especially since I have a 38 mm Murph and it does have some AR (not good AR but some).
