When you can't get a straight shot with a socket, as in minute 25:45 on the Governor bolts, use a "dog bone" adapter, installed at 90 degrees, and set at the desired torque value. Sets from many manufacturers can be found with an internet search. Great video series. Just seeing it done and what is involved has given me the confidence to rebuild my 42RH,s Thanks!

Great videos Matt! I'm trying to figure out how to make the last special tool(6312). I was thinking about using hard wood, but not sure. A lot of amature mechanics have access to small wood lathes, but not bigger metal lathes. I have a feeling most special tools can be fabricated. Anyways---I really hate buying special tools. I'll eventually figure it out, but if you gave any ideas; I'd appreciate your feedback. Your videos have really helped me. I went to automotive school in the 90's, but went into another trade instead. The only course I missed was Automatic Transmissions. To this day, they are my Achilles heel. It's crazy how complicated, even vechicles from the 90's are. My overdrive stopped working right when the warranty went out. I've put 80k on a truck without the overdrive. My point is if the overdrive is not working, drive the vechicle until it dies. Matt knows this, but I thought I should throw it out there. An ex of mine went to AMMCO, and was taken for $3000 to repair the overdrive.). I will now watch your pressure video. You are a great mechanic.

Hello MattsMotorz , I'm rebuilding the trans from my wife's Jeep. It's the 46RH, the new fiber discs and steels that came in my kit are 0.101 thinner after stacking, with the same number as it had factory. I added another fiber and steel to the stack and it now is 0.013 thicker than original. Is this acceptable? Any advice would be GREATLY appreciated. And, thank you for making the videos man! S. Matt please for the love of God stop using vaseline it will deteriorate rubber seals and cause premature failure use assembly line or ATF to hold the parts been rebuilding 4l60e for years and needed this video to get through this thing.
