When the pain goes away, sometimes it is replaced by terrible anxiety or depression. I start to see those emotions as old friends. I am ignoring something.

Rhonda, all I want is for people to feel hopeful. As many of us have, I struggled so long. I expected that if I believed in allll of this & was in therapy why would I still get symptoms. I felt so mad at my body for being like a pin ball machine, one pain after another. Now if I get a symptom I'm able to be more gentle w myself & it disaapaites faster. Yes there is hope. I feel deserving of feeling good. We all are deserving. We are soooo lucky to have Dan & each other

If she and you can do it, so am I and all the other people who know this is the way and this is the right knowledge. I don't know what future lies ahead but I am more confident about it than I ever was before. I am still on my way, how long it will take I don't know, but I am definitely on the RIGHT way. Many many thanks for all your kind and loving helping work to all of us who is interested and open to change.

I’m 100% in agreement on the point of repressed emotions being an approach that is a major turnoff for many. I’m grateful that you’ve made it clear that you don’t have to have had childhood trauma to be an adult with TMS experiencing chronic pain. An ah-ha moment.

Hi Dan Thanks for your videos- they make such a difference. How do you recommend knowing when to heed a symptom and rest and when to push against it and play through the pain or symptoms to show the brain your safe? I know in the video you said that its not necessarily always pushing through it. My question is- what advice do you have for knowing how to tailor your reaction? could you do a video on this?
@PainFreeYou
@PainFreeYou Жыл бұрын
Let your fear be your guide. If you are terrified, that's not a good time to push through. If you are confident and calm, that is when you can move forward. This is a belief and mindset game.

Ok Dan, I have a bunch of questions and I don’t even know where to start. What is the difference between indifference about riding the bike and pushing past the pain? I have been a chronic migraine sufferer for 45 years and I have come across this work and have had some relief. Now the pain has traveled to my shoulder and my hip and I am trying to have indifference and remind myself that I am safe and nothing is structurally wrong. Maybe it’s because I have been trying to fix myself for so long, it is a habit of fear? I had fear about food causing migraines and for whatever reason when I read Sarno’s book and then decided too much attention was on my food. I decided to give up that weirdness around it and I have been fine. The other stuff seems harder to let go of. Maybe it’s a topic for a video? 🙂 Anyway, Karen thank you for sharing your story. It gives me hope and maybe when day when I grow up, I will be like you. 😊

It took me a long time... the key things to do for me were to stop freaking out. I'd get soooo mad at myself, I felt my body was betraying me. I was always soooo mad at myself. Once I found this community, I felt less alone, I stopped freaking. There are days its hard to be indifferent. But even if I can be indifferent for 5 minutes that's better than nothing. Be gentle w yourself
@PainFreeYou

Pushing is resistance where indifference is literally not caring about the pain because you KNOW that it's TMS and that your body is fine.

Hi..isn't migraine a complex genetic neurologic disorder? New researchs tell that migraine's root cause is Genetics.They always emphasize that Stress isnt root cause of migraines.You are born with migraine disease..I get very confused.Is it purely TMS?
@PainFreeYou
@PainFreeYou Жыл бұрын
There are TMS doctors saying that migraines is ALWAYS TMS. Don't hang your hat on genetics. If that's true, nobody would get well, yet they do time and time again. It's TMS. It's perceived danger. There's new research on all sorts of things. Medical research is always looking for a physical cause so they can look for a medical treatment. If they prove it's stress or "perceived danger" as I suggest, there is no treatment they can charge for. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/qtSFaa5zptyZlps.html

Dr sarno was insistent hip pain was tms. It worsened. I went to see Dr rashbaum who took over sarno's practice when he retired. Dr rashbaum finally agreed to exrays. I had to beg him. The next day, he said I had "severe arthrosis." He was unsure if tms so I had a hip replacement. I have NO regrets on that. It's 12 years, no more hip pain.
