Looking great. Lots of fry. Great explanations. I really enjoy looking at other peoples ponds and fish. I have 4 koi ponds and a fish room with multiple tanks. My ponds are surrounded by decking and trees. If you would like to view them that's great. If not that's ok too. Thanks again for sharing and take care.

Crazy that mop isnt pulling that bobber down more. Seems like it would be pretty heavy.

Water wisteria absolutely will go emersed after it gets massive, my pond hygrophilia difformis grew into a mass and shoots of emersed wisteria grew beautifully!!! It also loves the full sun!! Your pond is awesome!!!!!! You should try lagenandra meeboldii? It's a BIG Aquarium plant that would thrive in your pond!!!

Can you over aerate your pond? And does your pond smell at all? I ask because I've seen natural ponds that look similar do your algae growth that smell.

Aeration is the key to keeping a pond healthy, you can't really over do it. None of my ponds smell, the key again is aeration and keeping a good amount of surface vegetation which really knocks down algae by blocking light. That also reduces evaporation and helps water from getting too hot in summer.

What led to your decision to build an above-ground pond as opposed to an in-ground pond? Wouldn't the latter have been more economical and maintenance free?

I have about a foot of soil then it is solid rock.

Looks awesome. Do you have any shade trees for the hot times of the summer?

The pond gets full sun from about 10 am until about 430 PM by then the shade from the trees and building to the east begin to hit it, by 5:30 it is almost in full shade. Some more trees are going it but it should be fine.
