If you're planning to sail to the Bahamas with your pet, you will need to have a Veterinarian appointment or check up 48 hours prior to arrival. This is very difficult because the weather changes frequently and we are likely going to be delayed. In this video we show you where we had our Veterinarian checkup in the North Lake Worth area of West Palm Beach as well as reprovisioning of food, fuel and trash.

We've also dumped trash in the large dumpsters in the Safe Harbor North Palm Beach parking lot, which is convenient if you are getting gas there.

We bought gas and diesel several times (trips) at safe harbor. I never noticed the dumpsters…. Geesh, that would have been WAY easier!!

Nice choice for heading to the West End and looks like you had good weather for crossing. Cruising with pets- has its pros and cons but mostly pros. Most of Carribean is pet friendly but there will be fees and tests required for checkin. Look forward to next episode.

Glad to see you didn’t dump your dog prior to sailing as other families have done. Please don’t take this wrong but you really need to cut back Lexi’s food. Lexi will get around easier and feel better carrying less weight.

Next time you are in W. Palm, fuel up with the fuel barge. Big price discount compared to the marinas. 🙂

Have you decided on communication method in Bahamas? Last time I checked a few yrs ago, My Island Wifi was a popular value based option.

Hi Douglas, we’re using Starlink. It’s been working exceptionally! Actually better than it was in the states.

@@SaltyEscape Should have remembered that. Starlink seems to be THE choice nowadays and it seems co is not really enforcing its written restrictions (from what I've heard/read) that it puts on residential and RV options.

@@douglasrobbie9998 it worked for us through the entire passage from Florida to the Bahamas West End. We are hearing rumors that is working in the middle of the Atlantic. Also, it looks like they are about to introduce a new International slashroaming plan for around $200. Sailboat story has island Wi-Fi, and their coverage seems to be spotty and slow at times. From my observation, most cruisers have star link.
