We spent a very quick 48 hours in Copenhagen, Denmark.
Walking all over the city we ate brunch in Mad & Kaffe and The Union Kitchen, amazing burgers at Gasoline Grill, Danish pastries at Skt. Peders Bageri, open sandwiches at Barock and got the meat sweats at Warpigs.
Along with all the eating, we also saw the sights of Copenhagen including The Little Mermaid Statue, Freetown Christiania, Nyhavn and more!

As a 52 y/o dane having binge watched travel Vlogs for 2 hours, Ive seen more Nyhavn, gasoline grill and cinnamon rolls in those 2 hours, than the previous 52 years.

Tivoli is the third oldest amusement park in the world. It was opened in 1843. There's one in Austria, that is older, and then you have Bakken (Dyrehavsbakken) , north of Copenhagen, which is by far the oldest in the world. It was opened in 1583. Tivoli was the inspiration for Disney World. Walt Disney visited several times.

Enjoyed our trip 3 weeks ago and yes the Gasoline burger was good…Tivoli garden was closed when we’re there but they open a day after we left for haloween (12 Oct)…anyway we end up going to there food court instead as you can peep part of tivoli gardens as the restaurant got a garden tables overlooking the tivoli garden which was nice…would definitely go back one day summer time as there are part that we haven’t visited…we then head Gothenborg and Oslo…while in Copenhagen we also take advantage of a day trip to Lund and Malmo which is not very far and did enjoy those too….maybe next visit I’ll add Roskilde.

If you return to Copenhagen (maybe in the summer time?) you'll love returning to Reffen. I also recommend that you check out CopenHill next to Reffen. It's a waste facility plant (they burn waste for heating) with an artificial year-round ski slope on its sloping roof. I would suggest taking the elevator up and walking down along the side of the slope. Views are great and it's free. Also, bring your bathing suits, because you can swim in the harbor (in designated areas - but the water is clean enough). Also, rent bikes next time. It makes a lot of sense in Copenhagen to bike around - you'll get to see even more that way, and Copenhagen is very bike friendly, as you may have noticed.

What's it like during April?
@hejmuesli
@hejmuesli Жыл бұрын
@@TheMatchReview It's bright and sunny on many days, but it can (more often) also be rainy and grey. You'll be wearing warmer clothes still, but most likely no longer a scarf. You can get days with hints of summer weather. But if you are looking for sitting outside and enjoying the long and bright summer days and going swimming in the harbor or by the beach, then you should look at June, July, August, September.

Author, Hans Christian Andersen had his only home as a room on top of a building in Nyhavn. He travelled among friends in Denmark and also in Europe, down to Italy and Spain, using local transports, mostly horse-drawn! He ended up as rich as a present owner of a Billion, because of an honest family member, taking care of his rights!

we walked everywhere in Copenhagen, it's a really easy city to get around! Plus, cycling is huge in Copenhagen so you can definitely hop on any of the bikes dotted around the city to get around too :) I think the only mode of transport we took on our trip was a ferry across the water x

I've seen many vloggers pointing out, how clean Copenhagen/Denmark is. I've also heard vloggers say, the water in the Copenhagen harbor and canals is the cleanest, most transparent seawater, they have seen in any large city. I believe there are two places in the harbor in Copenhagen, where you can see mermaid figures under water, although they are several meters below sea level.

@@orlaghclaire I went with my Husband in 2015 to Paris and I didn’t like it, mainly because as soon as we got off the train we got offered a taxi and ended up paying a fortune, me not realising at the time it was a scam 😌 but I wanna go back and give it another go, I liked Disney. Never been to Copenhagen and it interests me but I don’t get the excitement that Paris will likely bring if we give it another go
