Today I’d agree with you on the 120 thousand, but then, trucks weren’t usually driven like we do today, they didn’t run to Walmart and McDonald’s every day…..

Driving a truck like this was hard work, especially on the rough roads they had back in the day. 50,000 miles in one of these is like 300,000 in a modern vehicle.

It's disrespectful to watch a channel and not subscribe! It doesn't cost anything nor does it obligate you to anything. It just supports the channel and helps the people who spend their money and time making the videos that you like to watch. these guys earn it. And if they've kept you entertained or engaged for the video. It ain't gonna hurt you to hit the like button. They've earned that too.

Working with your father can be pleasant and fun, or miserable and aggravating. My father and I do carpentry, flip homes, build decks, do landscaping... That kind of thing. He's broad strokes, work fast, see the project being completed. I love the meticulous small things. Taking the interior out of my car to deep clean it every couple years, making sure everything fits perfectly, figuring out the why and how. It's nice you two have similar interests and goals and can have a back and forth like 21:47. I like many, am enjoying watching the two of you work and rebuild things together.

That tail fin ERASES any possible “disappointment” I would have over not getting that Dodger started. I never appreciated beat up old trucks before you folks showed me how cool they could be. Not even “Mater” from “Cars” could make me like rusted old hulks, lol. Mahalo for another super video. I know the Sun is unrelenting out there and that you couldn’t bring Boo with you, but maybe you just needed a pinch of his supervision and inspiration, lol. Take care and Aloha to all three of you.❤

The last conversation I had with my dad was him wanting to build this truck. He was very detailed about what he wanted. 225 slant 6/904 automatic. He preferred the 3 on the tree but had just had hip replacement and couldn't clutch. 2 days later I got the call that he had passed. I want one of these in his honor.

It's pretty amazing how similar the Dodge is the the IH of the same year. I still own my KB2, like the one you worked on, but no longer own my old 1953 Dodge-same engine as the 49 you're working on now. Both trucks should have a provision for a hand crank through the grille, just below the radiator.

Loyal follower here. I love what you guys do! A old timer told me about a trick with these Dodge Flat Heads that have been sitting for a long time. Add some ATF down the Carb when cranking it or while it is running not much just a wee bit. I loosens the Valves up usually. I have a 53 Dodge Pilot House Era like yours except it is a 1 ton with a 237 CI engine. A little higher RPMs but you are correct yours should be the 230. 👍👍
