That dual gauge setup in front of the shifters, indicates that as an SR-5 package. That carb. is a progressive Weber, 32/36. Yes, that pulley on the upper left side is the power steering pump. Good starting point. Good luck! Starting with a good little half ton import, the Toyota!

Luckily the bolt price surge has not hit my Ace hardware yet. It's a bit of a drive to the nearest Tractor Supply for me.

Defrosting the freezer is a modern fridge problem too ... mine just needed it done last week, not as much ice as this one, but had to take everything out of the freezer ( we left stuff in the fridge) and then had to pull an inside panel off the freezer and wait for it to melt.

To hear you complain about condition, geesh! In ct,that Camino would be rotted past what yours is ,when I was 17 in 1972. What did it cost?

I don't think the mice did it directly, I think the environment caused the accumulation over time. Personally I would never had put the unit together without a new clutch but everyone gets to make their own choices. Nice series.

I’ve got a 61 GMC that I made a video about a few years ago, looks a lot like that truck, even sounds similar despite being a v6 and not inline.

Just wanted to let you know that I really enjoyed the part of the video toward the end where you started talking about your gas pumps. I've got a restored Wayne 60 that I just inherited a few months ago. I have not had time to investigate what I need to get the light globe working on top, as well as the internal light around the center. You opened up your pumps and now I realize what I have to do to get this all lit up. Thanks a bunch - love all your videos. Good stuff!

I had a ‘48 Chevy Fleetline what a stud of a car. Bad to the bone. I had $4000 in machine work on the og 216 and I could have spent a ton more to get it ‘right’ as you said. Thanks for the vid A++ Btw torque sequences should be reversed for disassembly.. outside to inside, in stages but hey this stuff is very forgiving. Again thank you and your pops for keeping it going🙏👍👋 freeze’

As a 26 year old who owns a 59 El Camino and four fifth generation El Caminos, I’m glad to see more and more of the first generation rigs out there being worked on and fixed up. They may always have rotted floors, but they look solid from the outside! 😂 My 59 has new floor pans but other than that and the eyebrows of the hood, no rust!

I love the car. My Dad had a 1960 his father bought in 1960,, A Biscayne.. He kept it until 1967 and traded it in for a 1967 Biscayne. His father passed away months after buying his 60, so that is how my dad got it.

Those sediment bowls have cork gaskets that really need to be constantly wet. Once they dry out you’ll have to replace them. Fortunately even now they are cheap and readily available.
