I know that right, age is just a factor of your life. I'm 53 y/old just taking pre-med and I am not worrying about age. This is the right time for me and I'm taking advantage of this moment. This is an assignment I must do because if I give up, I'll regret it and always question why I haven't pursued my dreams. It's NEVER too late, It's late if you don't do it. I was accepted to take PA program but declined it because I want to purse either the MD or DO profession.

I have a friend that is 50 in medical school right now.

I didn't take it very seriously in the beginning because I thought it was just a crazy thing to even consider, but as years went by, the desire didn't go while working at other jobs got more and more painful. I turn 38 in December. I’ve been wanting to become a doctor ever since I was a child, but was constantly distracted. But now I’m finally focused and been thinking about it constantly. But I’ll be starting from scratch. I’ll be 44 going into med school. And probably won’t become a doctor until 52. But I’ll be 52 one day anyway. I don’t wanna live with any regret. Just want to say thank you for sharing your story. I was told by my professor at a college in Mississippi that my grades are so good in her biology class that I should switch from being a music major to being a Bio major. She even went as far to give me the name of a university that I should apply to and become a medical doctor, then return to give pep talk to her students. I laughed at her and said to myself does she think I am under 30 years of age? Seeing your video has caused me to take back that laugh and make me do some real self examination. I believe it is high time I take her words seriously and do something positive about it and make her proud. I am praying for your success, don't stop going forward.

Now you in, you have to get good grades because residency spots is like getting into an even harder medical school. A lot of people never end up matching. So you not our of the woods yet. They check your medical school transcripts to evaluate your academic performance in medical school when you apply for residency. Residency is the real goal because you can't be board certified without first getting accepted into residency and then completing 3 years, then you are eligible to sit for the board certification exam, once you pass, THEN you are a board certified physician. Still got a long way to go. Good luck to you.

Your video is an inspiration. I’m 28 currently doing my bachelor in biochemistry, I started in fall 2023. I think by the time I finish undergrad school I’ll be 30, I don’t see myself doing anything else than practicing medicine, but I have a deep fear because of the age, seeing those videos of people pursuing that dream at any help a lot.
