Yes, that is SO Barbara style! It’s completely unique in the world. No other creative soul would think of using the materials, colors, embellishments just as you did, but what you’ve done here is sending sparks out to other creative souls and fires are starting in studios all over your viewership! It's mind boggling to me how all the beautiful pages, artistic pieces of ephemera, yummy collage fodder, stenciling, stamping, pretty bead dangles + countless other journal elements all combine like they are a whole unit especially created for this journal even though they were mostly created on separate occasions...even spanning over the course of 5 years (10/2016!). I absolutely love how this turned out. I'm also really inspired by the fact that you weren't really feeling it in the beginning and weren't even sure if you were going to make the journal, but you pushed thru and ended up making something you love. I struggle a lot with not liking something I'm creating, then giving up and not following thru, but you have inspired me to keep going. This looks great. I especially appreciate the charms and baubles of your mother’s. I’m making a fabric covered journal and I found a piece that I purchased more than 10 years ago and have never used any of it. I forgot I had it. It amazes me that God knew way back then that I would be using it today. The same is true of your mom’s jewelry for you. It blows me away every time this happens. I call them God winks❣️

I was teaching some kids, and would always keep the paper towels because they had cool paint on them. So after Easter one of the girls brought a whole stack of paper towels that they had used when they dyed eggs. They were gorgeous colors! She said, "I know you save these." After watching this I need to dig those up and use them in packets.

Ok, so I can see now how the more you layer the more deepth you get. After all the layers are added, they enhanced the ones before. Theses steps helped me understand what I thought was covering up. Thanks

This is a basic blanket stitch used in needlework and quilting as well. Great example of how people around the planet all end up using the same technique without knowing each other. I think this stitch has been used in book binding single signatures in Japan for over thousand years. I love doing things while thinking of those before me. Beautiful choice!

Wow, I am definitely inspired! Even with all the decisions this journal presented, I have to say I so enjoyed hearing the crinkling while you handled it. It turned out more beautifully than I could imagine, so complex and textural and you tied it all together at the end with the splatters and stencilling! It is you Barbara, it’s delightful!💕from🇨🇦

Oh yes, I do like it. I think you nailed it in creating and modifying the format to be totally you. To be honest, I was worried at first... It was kinda of overwhelming. But you persisted and it is gorgeous. I need to add stenciling to my journals. It is just a subtle icing on top. I love it. Great job and fun series. Thanks.
