This was truly special, Barbara. My mom passed 3 years ago and I have an album full of her pictures that I wanted to do something memorable with. You have inspired me now, and I love the idea of feeling closer to her by using her picture in a journal. You made me shed a tear! Our moms are so dear to us, thank you for this.

This one got me all teary as my mom was an angel, an accomplished artist, and like your mom, she always encouraged my artist endeavors. I really loved watching this transformation. I also teared up at the end because I know how you are feeling. My mother was an artist, and inspired and supported me throughout my whole life in my creative endeavors. It was definitely one of our connections. I completely understand your emotions. I always feel the same when working in my family / heirloom journal. My parents both passed away years ago, and when I'm working in my journal, I still feel close to them. They were the best and sweetest parents, and I still miss them, but I know they would be proud of me - eventhough my life wasn't always a clear chosen path. Your mom would be very proud of you Barbara, and not just of your creative career!

What a wonderful way to incorporate your mom into your creative life. I love using family photos. My mom would come back and haunt me if I gave her a tattoo. I can hear her voice in my head now calling me by my full name, as all mothers do when they're unhappy with us. 😂

Oh Barbara! The friendships we make from watching videos of people we don’t even know…. I was very touched watching your strong feelings come out about your Mom. My Moms been gone for 22 years. My husband died 10 months after her. I’ve done a few pages with my Husbands pictures. But I think I’ve only made 2 with my Mom and those were with the whole family. I usually get teary eyed for my Husband but lately with the Journey I’m on right now, I miss my Mom. She passed away from Cancer. But hers was discovered very late. Mine, we’ve caught early. So seeing you get emotional and knowing the feelings I’ve been happening right now, I joined right in with you and I let the tears flow. This is a beautiful bookmark. Thanks for taking us along with you. ♥️♥️♥️

I teared up at the same time you did! I lost my mother just last year and I'm still too sad to use photos of her in my journals. But I think this is just the most beautiful, creative way to honor your mother and I will do this, too, once my heart is a little less broken.

Barbara, all of my parents and grandparents are gone. I'm nearly 60yo, and the "matriarch" now. I even lost my only sibling, my brother, June 16th, 1996. I've been really missing them all so much lately.💔 I was even in tears a few of days ago. And again, yesterday, while watching a home video of Christmas gathering at my home, and my dearest grandpa playing guitar and singing old Spanish songs.💗😭 I truly adore the artful memorials you've created. Especially using such joyous, bright colors in loving, happy memory. I think I mentioned to you recently, I have sooo many photos, & I just don't know what to do with some of...most of...them. Your inspirations are the perfect way to use them and to create a joyful book of memories for my kids and grandkids to look through.💗 Thank you so much for your inspirations, and for the way you always make me feel better.💛🧡💛 p.s. It's beautiful, and I'm tearing up! I understand. My biggest supporters were my mom, grandma, and husband (all gone now). Working on a JJ about my husband has helped me establish continuing bonds with him since losing him 27 months ago. I've collected ephemera for years to make one for my mom. You've encouraged me to stop procrastinating and make some "snacks" for it.
